There’s one very important aspect in which bitcoin does not hold up to gold. I can hold an ounce of gold in my hand, and it has absolute value to barter or sell on the spot. A precious metal is a tangible asset that is required for industrial and high-tech usage. Has the value of gold ever crashed? Nope.
