Amid the ongoing protests in Bangladesh, train services from India and Bangladesh have been halted indefinitely. As Bangladesh is going through a curfew, internet, as well as transport services have stopped, causing difficulties for both Bangladeshis and Indians. As the situation worsens in Bangladesh, services of the Bandhan Express and Dhaka-Kolkata Maitree Express have been stopped by the Eastern Railways. Many Indian students studying in Bangladesh, have been transferred to India through the Agartala ICP in Tripura. The BSF and Bangladesh officials assured that the students, mainly studying medicine in Bangladesh returned to India safely. Amid the heightened protests, the WB police deployed tight security outside the Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in Kolkata. The riots in the neighbouring country started weeks ago and escalated this week, leaving dozens dead as students started revolting against the return of job quota.

  • @notumotu
Who goes to Bangladesh to study?
  • @50hell
    pray for বাংলাদেশ
  • Bangladesh is operating like an autocracy. You just don't have the right to shut down the voices of students . They are students ,the future of Bangladesh and not some terrorists . This is not acceptable at all.
  • Sad to see a lot of ignorant fools in comments. Students do go there to study medical etc. + a lot of people from Kolkata do have relatives in bangladesh. And the news isn't even about why they go there? Its about the rising tensions in the country owing to deadly protests that have rocked the nation. Let's not pretend like we have a perfectly working system of reservations in our country ( ref: Puja khedkar IAS forgery case + NEET Paper leak scam). More Power to People of bangladesh <3

I am astounded by the arrogance displayed by some Indians here. Numerous educational institutions in Bangladesh are world-class, attracting tens of thousands of students from India, Nepal, and Bhutan. Do you believe that only India offers a quality education? As a Bangladeshi educated in my homeland, I now work for a highly respected company in Europe. I collaborate with several Indian colleagues, some of whom lack proficiency in English.

    তারা সব নেটওয়ার্ক বন্ধ করে দিয়েছে যাতে করে কোন কিছু দেশের বাইরে না যায়। খুব খারাপ সিচুয়েশন বাংলাদেশের দোয়া করবেন
  • Just divide and rule is the politics everywhere.. So common people needs to take stand..
