A time lapse movie in UHD, 4K by MK timelapse GmbH, www.mktimelapse.com/.

Built at Meyer and Neptun Shipyards in Germany and Meyer Turku in Finland, AIDAnova is the first of a new generation of LNG Powered Cruise Ships for Carnival Cruises - the Helios Class. The vessel is 337m Long and can house 6.600 passengers.

We filmed the entire construction process with our advanced MK V4 timelapse cameras, shooting 40mp images every single minute.

The music has been composed for this video by sound artist Harry Price:

"It's been awesome soundtracking this time-lapse with Max and the MK timelapse team. Not only are they true pros in their field, and the nicest guys, but they pretty much gave me a free reign to create something that would complement the magnificence of the AIDAnova and the incredible build visuals. We couldn’t be happier with how it turned out - thanks guys!"

This is probably one of the most spectacular cruise ship construction films that I have ever seen. The entire process of putting together a modern cruise ship of this size is beyond mind-boggling.

The amount of engineering involved is just mind blowing.. Imagine just drawing up the blueprint, Let alone build it.

This is so much work... I can't even summon the motivation to clean my room.

This whole process amazes me. Especially after spending 7 years on cruise ships. I'm very grateful for this video.

It's truly amazing what human beings are capable of when we actually cooperate.

the party to celebrate its christening must feel amazing....and well earned......incredible feat of engineering!...

Absolutely incredible time lapse. The mixture of music and the step by step process of construction really reinforced the ingenuity of humanity. Just being able to witness a flat hull turn into a huge floating hotel is something special. I also love that the time lapse continues during the celebration and fireworks, as well as the maiden voyage. It somehow added to the awe of the whole process, as if celebrating the construction with fireworks and a band, and the maiden voyage, are just as essential to the construction as the rest of the video.

I can’t even comprehend the amount of work that went into this. Both in the video and behind the scenes.

I saw this Cruise ship at Stockholm harbor one evening about 2 weeks ago. When watching this video tonight, which I came across by a chance, I realized it was the same ship. What a coincidence! Wow!

Success is about focusing Your energy on what creates results and using what you already know

Insane engineering, study and planning involved to put this giant together

What an incredible job these people did. Massive and beautiful ship.

After watching them float the initial keel down to the dry dock to have all the infrastructure added on top, then join the different sections and even more infrastructure on top and then watch them float the completed ship out, it's amazing it stay upright.

I built 747's for decades, thinking I was dwarfed by that. That ship is enormous and I am used to going up 50-70 feet to do my job. Impressive!!! Where do I apply for a job?
