Very good television movie about the exploitation of migrant workers in US farm camps. What it lacks in subtlety it makes up in the truth of the situations it depicts. Features strong performances by Paul Winfield and Mr. Walton himself, Ralph Waite. Jennifer Jason Leigh portrays the type of character she would play for the next several films and TV appearances - a shy, withdrawn girl who undergoes traumatic events but emerges as a survivor. Her acting has progressed notably from her previous TV movie, The Young Runaways.

This channel is a tribute to my favorite actress Jennifer Jason Leigh. None of the videos on this channel are commercially available. If any become available (and I hope they do) I will remove them immediately.

All Jennifer Jason Leigh, all the time on jjlchannel & jjlchannel2.

This film was there for me, right place, right time. I was in an abusive marriage at a very low point. Saw this movie, thought, if they can escape so can i. I left him the next day & never looked back!!
  • I like realistic movies like this, about people struggling to feed their families and how they are taken advantage of because they're so desperate. Reminds me of "The Grapes of Wrath" I like Ralph Waite and Paul Winfield. Both were really good actors. RIP. πŸ™πŸ™

Excellent movie - I LOVED it! Many lessons can be taken from this.... Don't give your power away, and if it's taken from you, you must take it back. You have much to lose if you do - your freedom and your rights. A cautionary tale that is very relevant, even (especially) in our current time and place.

This was an excellent example of faith, love, strength, protection and endurance to persevere through the even the toughest of circumstances you find yourself in because of one choice that allowed someone to take advantage of your best intentions.

Top movie thank you. It is relevant today - we livein a world run by greedy psychopaths and war mongers - we all have to stand up and say no more just like these people did.
  • Mr Waite and Mr Winfield. Both talented actors. They must have had great chemistry together. Thank you for the upload. Rest well gentlemen, you earned it.
  • it was so sad in the beginning that i thought i won’t be able to finish watching this. i love it when the helpless poor and abused fights back

    Ahhh Jennifer Jason Leigh 😍😍😍😍😍😍
  • Saw this on CBS when I was a kid in the early 1980's. Back then TV movies were good and entertaining with a moral message. Sort of like "The Waltons" meet the "Grapes of Wrath."

I vaguely remember this movie. It came on TV when I was 4 years old. I've been searching for it for a good long time. I'm happy to have found it.
  • Heart touching when they bring her all that food, like when baby JESUS was born. Great ending. Justice served.
