"that song hurt my feelings enough without me knowing what it is" you've just described every hozier song ever written
  • When I saw him live I cried a few times during the show. The lyrics, the music, and his voice are so powerful. From the opening of just him in the dark and backlit playing the guitar performing De Selby Part 1 all the way through to the massive ending of First Light. It's such an emotional ride. I hope every fan gets to experience Unreal Unearth live.
  • Sometimes i wish i could unhear his catalog to hear it again for the first time, just to feel the way you look like you're feeling. Anything that comes out this man's mind is magic.

Love your reaction! Honestly the nerve of this man... he has made me cry so much with his music. What do you mean I have to feel all my emotions through his fantastic lyricism and wonderful voice? Criminal

Please do the unheard EP next šŸ«¶šŸ¼ hozier is such a masterful artist and seeing him live is like a religious experience I highly recommend. My favorite song on unreal unearth is a tie between first time and to someone from a warm climate I think (it changes often for me)

here are some interesting tidbits abt the album 1. like you said in Franchesca the whole album is based off Dante's Inferno or the Divine Comedy which was basically the first fanfiction, Dante wrote it after he was exiled from whatever city he lived in and was basically just being like you exiled me to now your going to hell to anyone who was against him 2. Hozier has said that Franchesca is not written abt an ex or anything like that but actually abt Francesca Da Rimini who in the divine comedy was sent to the 2nd ring of hell in which everyone is being thrown around by hurricanes for cheating on her husband w his brother hence a lot of the lyrics eg "how could i fear a hurricane" also didnt regret it from "i'd do it again" 3. Son of Nyx was composed by hozier's bassist Alex Ryan after his father died apparently he sent Hozier the recording of the piano right after the funeral i think also Nyx is a play on words as Alex Ryan's father's name was Nick and in greek myths one of Nyx's (the goddess of night) sons is Charon the ferryman of the dead. 4.Uiscefhuaraithe (the subtitle for To Someone From a Warmer Climate) is a gaelic word that there isn't a direct but roughly means water cooled and the song is a love song to someone from a warmer climate kind of saying that the only way the could feel a similar cold to the other's climate is through cold water. 5.a psychopomp is a greek word that means something like a spirit guide who collects you after you die Hozier has said Abstract (Psychopomp) was written abt a mixture of moments but namely when he say a deer get hit by a car when he was young
