I've been in this type of situation before, the general problem is that most times with these types of guys, IT NEVER ENDS. Then it just becomes annoying.

“Gets the joke but lacks the social skills to play back.” My whole dating life summed up right there in one phrase. I had a SUPER outgoing guy, SUPER tall and attractive and he would always tease me and I NEVER teased back, I just kind of laughed every joke off and now I understand why the relationship never worked out. Holy smoke. How does one improve their social skills? I was severely bullied as a kid and it made me a recluse and I was homeschooled because of it. All of my friends betrayed me and I had no one and those experiences shaped my opinion of people and friends and I guess my social skills and self esteem never fully developed. Is the damage done or is there hope for me? 💔

I like the girl’s responses, but if guy would flirt with me this way I wouldn’t find it attractive. He can position himself up without putting me down. I actually find this behavior as small red flag. 🤔

I've never been good at flirting as I'm generally serious and easily embarrassed, but some of my friends are experts at it. I wish I could be like that without coming across as super awkward

I definitely have moments where I send back equal playing field flirting banter...but otherwise I can totally see that I'm always dropping my value down and being over the top gushing to them. Very rarely do I put myself in the superior position. I will be working more towards the equal flirting. Giving myself much more value.

I used to go to this deli owned by a Disney Prince lookalike. We had a great chat one day, so I went back later in the week for lunch again. He saw me come in, ran across the store, told the server who was helping me to go on break, shot me a perfect smolder and said, “There. I’m all yours.” Pretty sure I completely forgot the English language for a few seconds. Even though I torpedoed that interaction, I still love the story!

If any guy is out there thinking that this will work, I'll save you some time. It won't! What happened to giving someone a compliment and a smile. I think that "negging" only works on someone that has something to prove or is insecure.
