i3 is fast. i5 is faster. i7 is fastest. Let us move on now.
-
i9: I'm boutta end this mans whole career.
-
I3 is hot, i5 is hotter, i7 is a microwave and i9 will burn your whole wallet
-
In summary: The i3 is low-end, i5 is mid-range, i7 is high-end and i9 is ultra-end. The i7 and also the i9 are the most powerful, but they need very good ventilation.

Those hands, if properly harnessed, could power a small town.

Me: *watches one video on computers* Google: “So, I see you’re obsessed with computers. Wanna buy this one?”
-
Linus is really good at explaining things so that other people like himself who struggle with basic concepts can have a vague understanding
-
I have an I7 2nd generation - 8gb RAM Sony Vaio from 2013. It's lighting fast to this day and it works as fast today as it did when I bought it 8 years ago. Worth every penny.

before watching video: i knew higher number is better, after watching video: i knew higher number is better..
-
Add to this that a newer generation i5 can easily outperform an older i7 and all this is as clear as mud!
-
Linus has come a LOONG way both in maturity of his presentations, his style physical and intellectual. He's consistently getting better and better. It's nuts.
-
informative and entertaining .....love it!! You make learning this stuff not get boring. Thanks!
-
"I love Intel" That aged poorly.
-
i3: Basic Desktop i5: Gaming PC i7: Works Station AMD FX-8320: Everything on that list under $160
-
Who's watching this in 2024?
-
The clock speed of Intel CPUs is/was supposed to equate roughly to the clock speed of an AMD Athlon thunderbird processor or at least I’m quite sure this was the case with earlier Intel CPUs so maybe it changed recently?
-
Moral of the story: The more $$$ on the PC the more performance on the PC (Doesn't include apple)
-
2:36 "all core i7's have hyperthreading" i7 9700K: im about to end this man's whole career
-
Well, there is just so much more that goes into CPU performance beyond clock speed (cache lines, speed & size, chipset, bus width, etc. etc.). I'm really not sure there is a naming convention one could draw up that would solve this problem.

Linus, your hand talking skills have improved immensely.
