Don't let this episode's subject know I've made a video about him - he wouldn't like the idea of being watched by so many people! It's The Basics on the paranoid Stunticon, BREAKDOWN!

“Before Transformers: Prime, I was a wimp! Now I’m a jerk and everyone loves me!”
  • It’s annoying that they killed off Breakdown in TF Prime considering they originally planned to give him a redemption arc & would’ve joined the Autobots, but because of the shows budget being slashed they couldn’t afford Adam Baldwin anymore. But it did lead to one of the best episodes of TF Prime, the zombie outbreak on the Nemesis.
  • I like to imagine it was his friendship with Knockout that helped Breakdown out of being nervous and paranoid.

Random background characters: has about 2 seconds of screen time along with little to no personality or depth Transformers fans: they're my favourite

I also remember that TFP Breakdown is pretty chill with the Vehicons. The scene where he was having a normal chat with a Vehicon about how he was somewhat attracted to Airachnid and the part where he praise the Vehicons for a good job. "I know it's thankless down there, keep up the good job, yeah." -Breakdown to Fowler pretending to be a Vehicon

Prime Breakdown is one of my favorite characters in the show. I liked how he and Bulkhead had a sort of begrudging respect for each other while still wanting to destroy each other. It's a shame he was killed off so unceremoniously. And then they just couldn't let the poor guy rest in peace.

I always liked how the desecration of Breakdown's corpse was one of only two things that genuinely pissed off Knockout. It still bugs me that they hinted at Breakdown possibly joining the Autobots, then killed him off, only for them to do the same damn thing with Dreadwing later on.
  • I got the Cylas Breakdown toy as a kid. For whatever reason, I chose it as my online name.
  • That Earthspark episode legitimately deserves an Emmy or something, it was an emotional roller coaster
  • @mattr75
I still regret I didn't get the Prime Breakdown toy when it was reissued
  • I still remember Bumblebee's saying "Breakdown, you reckless fool!" from Earthspark.
  • @abraveastronaut
I like how Earthspark Breakdown has a transformation that's not far off from how a lot of versions of Bumblebee transform. It suggests that maybe at some point they shared a body-type and they've just had different upgrades.
  • @PartigradeCannon
I kind of wish in RID, the Stunticons would have alluded to Breakdown. "We were brought on as replacements after one of the original guys left. He got an upgrade and didn't fit in with the team anymore." "The upgrade changed his personality?" "Well, that and the fact that he literally couldn't fit into Menasor. Besides, he's dead now."
  • Note: If memory serves, during a call with Agent Fowler (who was posing as a Vehicon), it's shown that Prime Breakdown does care for the rank and file Vehicons and returns Fowler's "How are you?".

Prime Breakdown is the best in terms of his design and rivalry with Bulkhead but Earthsparks is my favourite with how different he is and is almost like a brother to Bee instead of Cliffjumper despite being on opposite sides
  • @SWDude2710
I liked how, despite his varying different designs, he kept design aspects like his blue head with his orange face and shoulder wheels so we knew who he'd be based on. Plus, him being voiced by Adam Baldwin in TFP, who voice Green Lantern in Injustice 1 and Superman/evil Superman clone in Superman: Doomsday is pretty neat too.
  • @TheOvervoid
TFP Breakdown with G1 Breakdown's personality is a recipe for comedy gold!
  • @Achieme
I found it funny how in the beginning if WFC Megatron shot and killed a random trooper for being concerned about ramming a ship into a space station but the moment breakdown appeared he kept whining throughout the Decepticon campaign😂
  • @BoisegangGaming
Breakdown having friendships with Knockout and Bumblebee is definitely something that I feel future iterations of the character can play around with. It just adds a lot more depth to him, as a lot of decepticons are pretty one-note characters that don't really seem like they have a reason to be around each other.
  • The TFP version's narrative certainly was disappointing on two counts. The most obvious is that there was no final clash between him and Bulkhead. The second being the tease for a divided loyalty between Megatron and Starscream.
