A new billboard that has popped up in Tacoma is catching the attention of people and garnering mixed reactions.

The cartoon illustration shows a boy standing next to nuclear weapons and a map showing how close Naval Base Kitsap-Bangor is to the location on 6th Ave and Stevens St. The billboard was paid for and posted by a Washington-based organization called 'Ground Zero Center for Nonviolent Action,' which advocates for global peace.

The billboard reads "We're only 34 miles from the largest concentration of deployed nukes in the world!" Milner said this kind of messaging is important for people to know.

The billboard caught the eye of people walking and driving in that area of Tacoma, but some people say they don’t agree with the messaging.

Right on, listen to Washington State. After all, they went lenient on crime and look how that worked out really great.

Electric trucks weigh 2 1/2 times more than a regular truck you would have to rebuild every bridge in America if all the cars were electric. No grid can handle it. What are you trying to do?
  • Seattle region is a primary nuclear strike regional location in the United States due to international shipping and commerce. Removing military bases will not make it safer.

Kind of a double-edged sword - it makes us a Target and yet it helps us defend ourselves😮
  • If the U.S. goes to war with Russia, you can count on a 20 megaton warhead hitting Bangor. I’ve done the math and even at 35 miles we will struggle to survive the fallout.

What about North Korea subs and Russia subs off our coast??

just like people buying a house right next to an airport and complaining about jet engine noise. or demanding to defund the police got what they asked for then complains about the rise of crimes.

Because now nuclear is the cleanest most efficient and safest energy and they want to do the other thing.
