We have told our adult children that they don’t need to give us gifts anymore, we have everything we need. They have respected this. As far as giving them gifts , we just give them gift cards and money so they can pick out what they really need. I like to keep things very simple. I like to keep my home uncluttered, it really helps my anxiety 😊

With gifts I got a lot of freedom when I heard that when you receive a gift that is the end of the transaction. You don’t “owe” the person anything more than a sincere “thank you.” After that, the gift is yours to own, regift, or donate. Anything provoking fear or guilt is NOT a gift.

"Recluttering." That's the first time I have heard that term, and it's a good one. :-) I used to settle for things that I was looking to purchase, which I would eventually end of getting rid of because it's not what I wanted. I don't settle any more. I either find exactly what I'm looking for or I don't purchase it. It's definitely about a mind-set and prioritizing change.

I agree with most of what you said except i like faux plants/stems to add colour and style to rooms especially bathrooms and bedrooms. I have the itch to switch and for me, it's uplifting to rearrange, it stops me from buying new items.

❤ I am at the stage of moving around my “stuff.” It is exhausting! I love your rule of only having furniture that you can clean under. Moving furniture to clean under is beyond my capabilities now. What an obvious but unthought of fix. You are so encouraging. Please keep up the good work!🎉

Thank you for these tips. Im slowly but surely decluttering my house. I took 4 boxes to the goodwill today, lol!! ❤

One tip for live plants is set a "water plants" alarm on your phone to alert you one day out of the week, then check each one with a water meter. Water where necessary.
-
Another tip I thought of. I got into puzzles from last year and now I swap them with friends or buy from marketplace and then donate or share or resell on. Never keep them and I do one constantly on the go, changing them every month. I love Minimalism so much 🙏🇦🇺

Terrific & Marvelous job you still doing Becky. I own you a 100% score on it. ✅🥇🤑💰

Great ideas! I found figuring out what I like and don't has made a huge difference. Simple concept yes, but really has helped my home be more cohesive and less cluttered

I agree with you, Becky, hushing a room takes at least a week or more. My husband will say, "Where is this or that? I answer just seeing if we can do without it. We are younger seniors and I just don't need or want stuff anymore. Lol some things I wonder why I even bought them. I love your last tip the best as well. Saying no politely doesn't make you a bad person. Enjoying my life is most important to me now than stuff. I just wish I had learned that at your age. ❤ ❤

Love your idea of the Clutter Box ❤ I’m going to incorporate that into my space. And I liked how you spoke abt family and friends wanting to give you stuff, I’ve had that done to me also and here was my solution…I began telling everyone that I don’t want or need “stuff”. Whether that stuff was a gift or just generosity; but if they were going to gift me something, I’d tell them not to get me anything that was just going to “sit there”. I’d tell them to get me something that I’d use, and use right away, i.e. Snacks or toiletries 🧴 or perfume.

We do travel a lot. I also hate remembering to water plants even when it’s seldom. We have faux plants but not too many. When the weather gets warm, we just take them outside and quickly hose them off. Then leave them outside to dry. Super quick and easy.

With two little kids, I am on the brink of making the trash can my clutter catcher 😂 Seriously, though, I love the idea, going to try it!

I’m exactly the same. I move things around all the time and drive my family crazy. It’s a perfectionism mindset I reckon. Annoying right. I was the same with the indoor plants too. Fake v real. I love your place! I still think the bottom long shelve could be removed. Would be so good just the two. It still looks cluttered with it. But I love everything else to a T! Good work sister 👍🇦🇺🙏

I organized our kiddos room and got rid of 3 industrial trash bags of toys and clothes. I love the clutter catcher idea for our kiddos ♥️😍

Thank you for the subtitles for non-English speakers 💖.

i disagree with moving things around. i only have a few things, but when i rearrange my house, it feels brand new and refreshed! i do this maybe twice a year.

❤❤ thanks Becky for this video! Xx

❤ I am wanting more bare space! Still decluttering! Want it more peaceful.
