there was damage to more teeth than the one that was chipped. that is 1st gear though. looks as if someone with a failing clutch or out of adjustment clutch was having trouble getting into first. or someone who likes dropping into first while in motion. it looks like driver error... file off the burrs on the gear and run it. use 1st properly and you should have no trouble at all with it.
