I was there between 2012 and 2017. Very well organized jail. Staff is good, kitchen is clean, everything's in place. Would recommend and would go back in again. 10/10.

I was in jail in Phoenix, Az and it was about 26 years ago. I hated how it smelled. It smelled like pine sol but worse. Hard to explain. Went one time and never went back, been a good girl.

5:23 They have a Little Person door too. Appreciate the accomodations.

I worked at two different jails here in Maricopa County, one was 2,000 bed 12 story high rise facility with the first floor as administration, kitchen, and other offices, the 2nd and 3rd held 4 housing units with 4 pods each, the 4th held Visitation, both medium and maximum, Security Control, and medical to include an in patient 20 bed infirmary, the 5th and 6th floors held Juvenile, administrative segregation and closed custody housing 4 housing units with 4 pods each. That was the Madison Street Jail. the next I worked in a 240 bed Psychiatric unit with 6 housing units and a new infirmary that could handle everything except surgeries where they would be transported under armed officers to Maricopa Medical Center which had it's own secure hospital ward for serious cases where the inmates might require intensive care. At one point our jails had over 10,000 inmates incarcerated with in all 6 of our jails.

Rachel is doing a great job. Nice to see her again.

I learned something, I don't want to go to jail

Deputy Smith, been driving past this center for what 35 years now? always wondered what happened behind the walls of the facility. I do have some experience working with police as I used to provide property security for police departments. Good to see the low level offenders are able to cohabitant with other offenders it reminds me so much of being in basic training.

I can see why they picked this deputy to give us a tour

As an 78 year old english teacher in Ukraine, this video has brought information I would've never been able to get from my job, or possibly ever would've never been able to get in my life! As irrelevant it is to me and my entire life, it is useful to have information for things, just in case.

As someone who works in a facility that's the juvenile equivalent, this amazes me that it's not all that different. Some of ours sit in cells, some of them are able to walk around campus in their own clothes. Half of our residents are also foster care kids so it's interesting to also see the difference in behavior and attitudes between foster care children and children that are inmates (I don't like referring to them as such, they're all my kids regardless of if they're there for foster care placement or if they're incarcerated with us)

Nice to see what a U.S. Jail looks like, and to see the differences to our Prisons. Best regards from a german CO.
