This bodes incredibly well for Metroid Prime 4. Affectively, having a team, revisit the standard bearer, and learn from it is a very good thing.

My hype for Prime 4 is now through the roof. Glad to see that Retro Studios still got it!

I've never played a Metroid game, so I'm feeling lucky to jump into this for the first time!

Instant masterpiece and gone stright on to top 5 games on switch already. 60fps and looking like this on switch ? I got this on announcement and is remaster of the decade.. incredible. Big fan and own the originals. This is an instapurchase.
  • Lifelong big time 2D Metroid fan here and while I've always been embarrassed to say that the Prime series has been my one blind spot in the franchise, I'm overjoyed at how positive this remaster has been received by old and new fans alike. It feels like I'm finally able to tackle this game through its definitive version and I can't wait!

I can't believe the Switch is running this. At times it flat out looks like a current-gen game, all while running at a locked 60fps and 900p with anti-aliasing. This is hands down the best looking and most technically accomplished Nintendo game thus far, I expected to see this type of stuff on the Switch 2, not the current one.

This game looks gorgeous. I’m waiting for the physical edition.
  • The opening menu with the music is the most memorable moment I've ever had in a video game. I don't know why. But when it came up to that menu, I knew I was in for a sci fi treat. And the ice level music. Goddamn the memories.

Metroid Prime was the first video game I ever played. Seeing it like this is absolutely incredible. It still doesn't feel real.

The raindrops on the visor when you look up were actually in the original. Amazing attention to detail for 2002!

Timeless and brutally efficient graphics. I don't need more than this.
  • I love the Metroid games so much. When I was like 13 I played this and fusion every day. I ignored my playstation being stuck to my game cube. And I still have my GameCube and original copy of Metroid prime 1 and 2. And now. Here I am at 32 years old. Just as excited to play this again as I was as a kid.

one of the best games ever made, remade into one of the best remasters on one of the best consoles ever... I can't believe they just dropped this out of nowhere, I would've promoted this for months

I think its crazy how blinded by nostalgia/good the first game looks that when I first saw the trailer, I hadn't even realize they redid the textures. I legit thought it was just an upscale remaster
  • I think the door thing is an improvement if you don't have nostalgia for the old doors. I played Prime for the first time back in August of last year and there were a few points where I just missed a door right by me bc the grey centers tended to blend into the surrounding wall/thought the glow was part of my visor. Plus it matches closer to the doors in Prime 2.

This game has to make you wonder - what could Prime 4 look like on a next gen console?
  • One tiny thing I wish I could change is the controls for the map. Intruitively, you should be moving the map with the left stick and rotating it with the right stick, but its reversed. 🤔 Theres so many great settings included, pity this one wasnt (and please correct me, Id LOVE to be wrong!)

Retro Studios did a fantastic job with this remastered nintendo masterpiece. The way nintendo direct shadow dropped this game was stunning & I hope they do the same thing with Prime 2 & 3. Never played those Prime games so this is a perfect time for me to experience this legendary nintendo game. Already pre-ordered the physical copy which come out on Feb 22, but might get a digital copy of this game as a backup. Not sure if they would make this physical copy this long and the reason I say that it's because Metroid Prime Trilogy was released for the Wii but they didn't make the physical copies of that game long. That was one of the rarest copies you won't be able to find now unless you want to pay what quadruple the price on ebay or something? Not sure how long they would make this physical copy but let see. Awesome job Nintendo & Retro Studio's did.

If only Nintendo did this same approach with most their other rereleases. Skyward Sword was not worth $60 for how little they did with it
