Yep, you were correct, the weight does move which makes the front of the sled dig into the ground which makes it increasingly more challenging to achieve a "full pul" which is when you reach the full length of the track you're on which is about 300 feet, which is also why you run out of gas so quick as you only need enough to get that far and nothing more.

On hindsight, it makes some kind of sense that the damage model isn’t that great since they are mostly frame, and the frame needs to be sturdy enough to not bend or snap from the torque

The fuel consumption on the turbine model was a super nice detail! While turboshafts are powerful for converting to wheeled propulsion, they are not thrifty to operate!

I’m actually a big fan of tractor pulls, so this is awesome.

O.K lets put this in perspective I am hood A$$ street certified been shot stabbed and prison and to clarify I aint bragging bout none of that its actually embarrassing but one thing I can say growing up in North Carolina I have been to over, imma say 150, 200 tractor pulls and I'm not a fan by a long shot. And a magnitude of event and standalones events along with showdowns concluding with the championship events and tournaments happen every year for any occasion in any county down in the south. This is more common that F1 you will have people that know what a pulling rig is over a Indy or F1 and yes all of these engines are real depictions of the real shyt You got Jet Turbine Helicopter Turbine (mostly from Huey's) i have seen 8 motor with 12 oversized farming turbo's I'm talking engines that could spin up a black hole with in the space time continuum. I'm just saying, this is context on the popularity in the south.

The weight moves forward to place more weight on the front to cause the blade to dig in more and more. On a flat hard smooth surface with the weight right above the axel a couple strong guys can pull it pretty easy. But as the weight moves further toward the front the effective resistance in crease. Getting to the end of the marked course with the weight all the way forward is called a full pull. A tractor pull can be won with no tractor getting a full pull but anymore it is rare. Tractor pulls are typically done in monster truck arenas often times as a lead in to or a intermission to monster truck races free styles etc
