Difficulty: 6.5/10

Welcome to the first real challenge in the game! King’s Flame, Fuoco is a massive furnace puppet wielding both a hammer and a hand cannon. He hits like a tank, has inconsistent attack patterns and, while mostly telegraphed, his attacks all have different timings. Some are extremely delayed, others hit immediately. If you prefer parrying to dodging, know that you will have to master the ability and learn all of Fuoco’s attacks inside and out. If you prioritize dodging, this becomes a lot more doable. You can choose to summon a Specter if you’d like but he will die soon.

During Phase 1, land no more than 3 attacks at best and then use the rest of your stamina to retreat or dodge. The more stamina you have, the more hits you’re allowed to land, but don’t get greedy. You don’t want to be caught in any of his attacks due to them having very large hitboxes. Eventually he’ll go groggy, allowing you to Fatal Strike him. Keep doing this until Phase 2 starts.

During Phase 2, he will start by releasing a massive pool of fire on the ground. Its AoE is massive, so retreat as much as possible. If you get caught in it, you’re practically dead unless you have some fire extinguishing tools. Then, immediately hide behind one of the large red pipes to avoid getting shot by cannonballs. Eventually, he will use his cannon as a flamethrower. If this hits you, you’re pretty much dead. When this happens, get behind him and land 2-3 attacks, then pull back. Eventually he’ll go groggy, allowing you to Fatal Strike him.

A very challenging boss fight this early in the game, one that for the most part is won with patience and dodging.

Reward: King’s Flame Ergo, Flame Grindstone, High-powered flame amplifier, King’s Flame trophy / achievement

think this is where this game ends for me.

Fighting this boss right now and it has ruined my experience so far, phase 1 is getting better but on second fase he wont stop spaming the fireballs. Also the overheated status effect builds ridiculous fast and takes away a lot of health.

Here's what pisses me off about bosses in this game the most: It's not the unreasonably tiny parry window, or the 3 frame attack animations. It's that bosses (and some regular enemies) usually have a 1 or 2 animation attack that they can turn into a 3-4 animation attack whenever they feel like it with zero tells or warning. This means that I have to ALWAYS expect them to launch follow up combos to what is normally single animation attacks, which means I have to waste most of my attack windows.
  • He was one hit away and he ended up trying to run away and spam his cannon.😭

When you finally beat this thing, it just feels like you got lucky.

I really feel like I fucked up upgrading the electric stick thing. The game tells you puppets are weak to electricity but the damage doesn’t seem great to justify its long windup and recovery

Hearing that alarm at the start gave me flashback to little big planet

Dear friends, all you need is patience and a clear mindset in this game. After several attempts I felt like toying him already. Don't give up. You'll defeat him eventually, just don't let your anger defeat you. And please, don't smash your stuff cuz why the heck would you do that?

This is where the real Lies of P begins

The game basically gives you the strat to beat this boss and all puppets by stating that electricity is their weakness. Upgraded Electric Coil Stick took him down easily with Fulminis.

I have trouble getting them into the stagger state. You have to do a charged heavy attack when the outline around their lifebar is white, correct?
  • @sean7332
I recommend to use the axe , the sword is weak, and the greatsword drains your stamina too much, beat with olus two axe second attempt
  • You were lucky he didn't use the flamethrower. Still don't know how to avoid that attack.

This boss took me probably 100 tries over 3 days. The winning combo ended up being: buy 3 throwing cells, 3 fable catalysts, and 2-3 electric blitz abrasives from the first vendor (cerasani alley), then buy 30 sawtooth wheels from the desk clerk at the hotel, and make sure your sword is upgraded to +3 with Eugenia(which is the max at that point). Then farm Star fragments and a few more throwing cells from the couple guys near the stargazer spawn at Elysion Blvd Entrance. Warp back to the Venigni spawn and before you enter King Flames room, use a star frag at the little water dish to get a spectre to help you fight. Now go fight him, mostly melee with spectre until second phase then unload your throwing cells and wheels. Probably still take you a bunch of times but this has to be the easiest way. Good luck!

I'm 11 hours in. Dyeing inside.
