My favourite band of all time - not just because their music is incredible and their lyrics genius, but also because they fall into an increasingly narrow bracket of creators who you don't have to forcibly separate the art from the artist when you listen to them. They're both genuinely great guys.

i love the giants they're my favorite everryhting
  • I love the format of having them look through old setlists to see what memories it triggers!! I liked hearing them talk about No, I've always found it clear that they were just enjoying creative freedom with that album. It's funny that Linnell referenced sleepwalking, because there's actually a song on No about sleepwalkers.

Their friendship is so amazing omg. The way they're just so comfortable together and have sm fun looking back at these memories <3 It makes the music itself all the more wonderful
  • omg the fact that they played their first show at a sandinista rally these guys were destined to be awesome

Saw them in Millvale, PA a few weeks ago. They played 58 different songs over the three nights, including stuff they hadn't played in close to 30 years (Out Of Jail + Unrelated Thing). They played two different versions of Spy and both were excellent. Needless to say, they kicked serious ass at each show.
  • i saw a friend post a screenshot of this video today and i said out loud "The Johns are on Cinematherapy?"

It may be cliche, but I have to admit Birdhouse in your soul was what first introduced me and drew me to this band. although I have to say I think their pinnacle (for me personally) is "Where your eyes don't go" my most relatable (taking the place of "Dead") is "Can't keep Johnny down". I thank God for that wintery day in 1990 when Birdhouse in Your Soul happened to be on MTV at exactly the right time to change my life forever. and I thank TMGB for their influence on my growth as a human being.

    As promised: melody, fidelity, quantity.
