I ask strangers in Vancouver what languages they speak. As you can see, Vancouver is a very multicultural city full of languages from all around the world. Hope you enjoy, and you may support my work if you chose to :)

I love when people are humble and honest about their language skills. Understanding and being able to speak a language are two very different things.

Dan, I like how you added the Wikipedia page on Luhya language. It made that gentleman you interviewed even more relatable and interesting. Hope you will continue adding more background info for other interviewees e.g. their language, food, music, culture, etc.

Dan, the joy you bring to the world is a wonderful thing! Happy Holidays to you and your viewers.
  • A lot of people claim to speak french. Frankly, I do not believe that is true. I am French. I have been to Vancouver. One or two people were capable of speaking french…

Loved this one, Dan, and what you said at the end is inspirational and warm. So are are you and most of the people in your videos. As other viewers commented, your content is actually about people, learning and connecting. Something the human kind needs desperately in order to survive in this ever-changing world. Thank you.

Dan, you narrate a story and a message that is so important, and very much needed in this world. I’m always hoping that when I log into YouTube that you’ll have a new video to share with us. You’re doing some great work. Keep at it! Grazie mille il mio amico. 🐢
  • I’ve recently discovered your channel and your “project” is simply but amazing. It’s more than languages, it’s about people, cultures, feelings and connections. It’s a reminder, as you said, about how beautiful and various it’s our world. Keep exploring and learning! Ciao e grazie per ciò che fai! 🇮🇹🐢
  • Dan, this was a really beautiful video and I especially like the end where you talked about how grateful you are for everything that we and you have done, never give up your dreams! 🐢
  • First time I have seen one of your vids and I loved it. I loved how people open up when you ask questions about them. Brilliant.

Dan, thank you! Somehow this simple recipe of asking strangers about their linguistic abilities works fantastically each time and always makes me cheer a little. That is a huge achievement given I've barely found myself cheerful in the past few (if not many) years. Whenever you come across these cool, versatile characters and thoughtful convos on the street, it makes a deep, enriching impression. Like the other Dan from this episode and many other people before him in all your videos. Hope your circumstances won't ever force you to quit doing these vids. Live long and prosper ✌

I've been following your channel for a long time and I love how you show how important it is to speak more than one language. I was also hoping you would do a Vancouver chapter, I moved to Vancouver a few months ago and you just interviewed in the Commercial Drive area, a few blocks from where I'm living, if I had seen you I would have invited you for a coffee. See you next time, cheers!
