Fallout (Released Sept 30, 1997), is a post-apocalyptic RPG, developed by Black Isle Studios and published by Interplay Interactive. Roughly 200 years after the great war in 2077, you play as a blue jumpsuit-clad dweller of Vault 13. This vault in particular is one of several underground shelters in the desolate southern California region. The water purification chip in your vault is now failing, and the Overseer tasks YOU with venturing out into the wasteland to save Vault 13.

Get one from Vault City :D - that joke when you actually find 420 of them in Fallout 2 due to supply mistake for Vault 8.

A good tip for starters: Aquire Ian’s assistances by talking to him in shady sands, getting the chip and returning it, then take the game slow. I’ve tried to rush through everything way too many times and have died and failed too many to count. Be careful, and stay safe!

This game is ten years older than me , and I’ve never gotten past shady sands. The help is appreciated

I'd love to see more of these guides in the future! Fallout 1 and 2 compared to Fallout 3 and 4 are infinitely more complex games, and that means more confusing to newcomers! Helping these newcomers out can only help the community for these games, and who knows, maybe even veterans will learn a thing or two themselves. ;)

I just turned 18 and have been playing the fallout games for a good chunk of time my first being new Vegas. But going back and playing this game I’m blown away how fun this damn game is I’m having a blast figuring this game out

I was in Necropolis before the purge, but didnt know about the purge and leave to the BOS. You guys can imagine my surprise. Now I dont have to think about those fellas ghouls anymore, I guess.

On my first play through I got so distracted by the world, I would up letting the quest timer tick down to zero.
