  • I struggle to put my thoughts into words most especially when I am with the grammarian, always thinking if I am right or wrong in my use of English. Thanks for this amazing topic, coach.
  • Wow! Thank you, Ma, for addressing a general issue, and proffering pragmatic solutions.

There are times when I can't remember a particular word. Honestly, it was frustrating and annoying. After I remembered the word I was looking for, I was happy. Through this class, I was able to understand what I was passing through. TOT is a really nice subject of discussion and I was able to understand the signs and symptoms, and also the tips on how to overcome it. If I notice a friend or someone passing through this, I can rightly say, "hey, dear. You are having the tip-of-the-tongue phenomenon. I'm sure you'll think of the word soon - it's right there!" Amazing lecture, coach! Thank you for the insight!
  • Ma'am this topic is very crucial for me because it usually occurs in my thoughts. Tip has been taken

Learning new words daily and increasing their usage can help overcome TOT. The more you practice new words, the less they get stuck on the tip of your tongue. Thank you, coach, for this amazing teaching !❤
  • I am a victim of TOT Yesterday, I felt so frustrated because I wanted to explain something to someone but couldn't find the words to use, so I ended up keeping quiet. TOT is one of the reasons I hide under the umbrella of being an introvert. I can't share what I articulate in my mind but with your teaching today, Coach I learnt to be a conqueror to TOT. Thank you, Coach.
  • T.O.T is a common phenomenon, but with this lecture, I know I can find my way around it. Thank you, Ma.

Taking a deep breath, relaxing and staying calm, helps the brain focus and improves your chances of retrieving a word. This is very helpful! Thanks Coach.

  • Thanks, coach. I've taken cognizance of the fact that I can try to always find a way around it whenever I'm lost for words.

Coach Sam, thank you for another wonderful edition of the YouTube class. Some of the points I'm able to pick from watching the video are: 1. Tip of the tongue is simply the experience of knowing a word or term but struggling to retrieve it from memory. 2. Tip of the tongue occurs when one knows the word or information to express, but struggles to retrieve it from memory and also articulate it properly. 3. One common thing about people experiencing the tip of the tongue is that they often have sense of frustration and mild anguish as they search for the word. 4. One among many other causes of tip of the tongue is a memory retrieval issue. 5. Another causes of tip of the tongue is the difficulties to access specific words or names due to the structure of one's memory. 6. Sometimes, retrieval cues or related words can interfere with the recall of the targeted word. 7. Tip of the tongue can also occur as a result of incomplete activation i.e., when the target word in memory is not sufficiently activated to be recalled, but individuals can sense its presence. 8. The phenomenon of tip of the tongue is more likely to occur with less familiar or infrequently used words. 9. The frequency of experiencing the tip of the tongue phenomenon tends to occur with age as older adults may experience this phenomenon more frequently than the younger individuals. 10. Distraction or lack of focus can contribute to experiencing the tip of the tongue. This is indeed a great one, Coach! I commend your effort and thank you for sharing this invaluable knowledge with us.
  • This is overwhelming! TOT is normal, this is the first tip of overcoming the tip of the tongue. Knowing this, give me less stress!
  • @abisolaaa
I’ve experienced the tip of the tongue phenomenon a lot of times but I had no idea there was a name or term for it. Thank you for shedding more light on this, Ma’am.
  • I often experience the tip-of-the-tongue phenomenon, especially when I'm in the classroom teaching and explaining things to my students, or when trying to recall specific details from the Bible. I appreciate the clarification on this phenomenon. Thank you, Coach!
  • TOT is normal part of human memory and language processing but persistent occurrences need medical attention. I learnt a lot.
