Merrin will definitely play a BIG role in protecting Kata from the darkside as well. In fact, Merrin already has the jump on it before Cal even does at the end of the game, Cal is preparing the bodies while Merrin is telling Kata she has to confront it but not let it consume her. Merrin, like Cal has lost everything and she was in a very dark place mentally and emotionally until she met Cal (again, part of her talk with Kata), it's because of Merrin's own experience with hatred and a lust for revenge and overcoming that darkness that she can talk to Kata about it and help guide her in the right direction. Random side note, that "Ghost Star" song is hauntingly BEAUTIFUL. It's cute and innocent yet so sad and lonely. If Kata grows up to be a badass warrior for the light, maybe she'll get a nickname like Merrin's "Desert Ghost" and be called the "Ghost Star". Just a silly thing I thought of, I know it won't happen.

I just want a DLC that adds some exploration to tanalorr. I haven’t gone back there because there is literally nothing to do there.

This is a solid theory. I just want to point out that Cal actually looked down on Cere’s lightsaber, not Bode’s.

I think Cere was speaking through the force reason how Cal couldn’t see her and only heard her voice when he turned around. Not like a force ghost but still using it as a conduit for communication

So the first game was all about growing up and facing your fears, while the second one was about becoming more mature and letting go of anger. I'm guessing the third one will be all about fatherhood and mentorship, and probably dealing with guilt. I can see a lot of drama and conflict around his task to "guide her through the darkness" and the fact that he killed her actual father in front of her eyes. Most likely Cal is going to sacrifice himself to protect Merrin and/or Kata, just like every single one of his parental figures did for him.
  • Cere being seen in the end was for the player’s benefit. It was to show us that she is with Cal in spirit, as it were. It was not a force ghost, just artful storytelling.

I’d love to see Cal take up the mentor role either for Kata as his apprentice or his potential children with Merrin

Same thing happened to Luke when he took down the 1st Death Star(“use the force luke”) that was cals moment when he switched to hyperspace to get through the nebula when cir says (“now”) and they make it through the nebula

What's Next for Cal Kestis? Answer- Cal's marriage and having kids with Merrin. And we play as theirs kid.

Kata being a main character in a 3rd game would allow a learning / progression path in game 3 that would be very difficult if the main was Cal.

I can see Cere being part of the living force in the same way Kanan became a wolf when he died.
  • curious if Cal will be struggling with the Dark Side and using more Dark Force abilities in the 3rd game.
  • appreciate the jedi survivor content and theories for the next game. thanks!

I think the next installment is going to start out one of 2 ways: 1. Cal & Merrin raising Kata, with their own flesh & blood baby otw, living peacefully(as Cal was before the incident on Bracca), then another tragedy or unexpected event occurs compelling Cal to take up his lightsaber once more to protect that which matters most to him and the ones he loves. 2. Cal & Merrin(pregnant also) raising Kata as a warrior, teaching her the ways of the Jedi AND the teachings of the Nightsisters, while already being thrown into some other conflict (as we were in Survivor).

I'd like to point out that Cal at the end did not look at Bodes lightsaber but Ceres. After the fight against Bode we can clearly see that he used Dagan Geras lightsaber, which is also shown through an echo in the observatory. As for the "Guide her through the darkness" we could also theorize that it is related to Trilla. We did not actually get a death confirmation, we just saw her getting her back slashed. We just assume that she is dead, but considering Ceres last words "Trilla" and Ceres interaction with Cal at the end she might be still alive. Just imprisoned, getting reprogrammed and will join the fight again in the third game and Cal has to guide her to the light side again. This would also fit the team as everyone is or was in contact with the darkside: Cere in the past used the darkside, Merrin is a nightsister which utilize the darkside in their magic, Kata is the daughter of Bode and for Cal his signature ability is considered to be on the darkside while he also now is able to embrace the darkside. But all of them are good people and fight for the lightside, so rescueing Trilla and making her join our fight would fit this new jedi order Cal is building. Jedis who are not afraid of the darkside and use it features to help others.
  • Dark siders can’t communicate after death. Bode is gone. Only those most enlightened can speak from beyond the grave
  • also he is the only jedi whose lightsaber can change from crossguard, dual bladed, double bladed and he can use a blaster now that he is a jedi knight im sure he will be a jedi master

Cere is a force ghost.. it’s been done by Anakin, obi-wan, Jin, yoda, and Luke.. as well as many others!
  • Cere is now what is known in SW lore a force ghost. She is more in tune with the force. So to see that at the end brought a tear to my eye. Cal may have pick up on it a bit. Can’t wait to see what comes next.
