Katy, when this came out I was homeless, in and out of jail, and unhealthy. Now I have a house, a good job, and a husband. This song and “Clover Cage - The Lone Dancer” are the two songs that helped with my depression. I just want everyone to know things will get better. We are in this together. I love you ❤️

Happy 14th Anniversary to California Gurls. I can't process the fact that this song is 14 years old. I'm crying right now. I have been listening to this song since it came that June. I miss my childhood. We need this era back. This beat is really bringing back the memories of 2010-2016. I wish time travel was real. Don't let this generation die. I'm from Jersey so I remember sometime in June or July 2010 driving on the Garden State Parkway in Newark and Irvington, driving to my grandparents, and listening to this. The beat is really giving me major flashbacks. I was only 2 when this song came out. I have a great memory when I was diagnosed so that's why I remember things like this from so early as 2010. You couldn't go a few minutes on the radio without hearing this song again. I really can't believe that this song is 14 years old. This is one of those songs when you can remember what you were doing, what you were wearing, and when you heard it. I miss Summer 2010s, something about the last few seconds of the song when the beat is playing only sends me into tears, that was one of my favorite parts of the song when it was on the radio. June 14, 2010 - June 14, 2024. I'm 14 and I still love this song.
