  • I have a modded, sapphire blue ps vita 1000 with a 1tb micro sd card. I have TONS of games on it and it's great. Literal years of entertainment. Or at least until the battery goes to crap.

Claiming that the Switch runs games only "a little bit better than Vita" is a pretty wild take.
  • @nahurup
It's incredible how it holds up its charge. Left mine suspended with a game open multiple days and the battery percentage was the exact same as I left it.

To buy stuff in the Vita store, you have to add funds to your wallet using your ps4 or ps5. Afterwards, the funds will show in your Vita store

Sony (and a few other companies in Japan 🇯🇵) had A LOT of money from the great economic boom in the 90s. This caused a lot of strange phenomena in the business world. Many Japanese companies were so wealthy and so technologically advanced, they would regularly over-engineer their products, essentially making those said products instantly become "ahead of their time". This is why the Toyota Supra can compete with hypercars released last month. And it's why the Vita is still so relevant today. Sony really over-engineered 4 consoles: the PS2, the PSP, the PS3, and the PS Vita. The PS2 has slowly succumbed to time, mostly because of aesthetic choices. But the PSP, PS3, and PS Vita are so well designed that, if you didn't know, it would be easy to think those consoles came out less than a decade ago. Meanwhile the PSP and PS3 have reached two decades and the Vita is over one decade. It's mind-boggling.

  • @wd99999
Just picked one up, playing Most Wanted, Uncharted, Killzone & Dead Nation. I love it!
  • @Thoma1100
Great video mate. I'm thinking of picking one up for sure.
  • @Mogre29
Vita store is still up and running with a lot of games on it
  • @Rook8501
I had a monster movie marathon, watching Godzilla on my vita, 3 movies and played some Sly Cooper until I went to sleep. The battery is really good considering its age.

I own my Vita since 2012 and got it jailbroken around 2020. What a fantastic piece of hardware. I played with it a lot back when I purchased, and around 8 years after, when having access to all the cool stuff, I've been using it pretty much every day since then. Not only it has a huge library of the more official vita, psp and ps1 games, but through homebrew, I played all of the ps2-era gta games, which I'd never do if it wasn't on a portable.
  • @boywonder8329
great review. very detailed and covers all the points I was looking for, thank you
  • @nicotica
i always wanted one... a friend had one and i was so incredibly enthusiastic about it. i think i'll buy one and see if i still like it today. the only thing missing are game recommendations
  • I've not touched it a bit but I have my basically launch OG OLED Vita! I love(d) it! Gravity Rush was a launch title and I played it to DEATH. Drill kicking those monsters in the air is so satisfying! haha. I have both GR Remastered and GR2 on my PS4.. I need to play GR (Remastered) all the way through again before I restart my playthrough of GR2, of which I got on by bday back in 2016. Also, the back touch panel was used in Hatsune Miku Project Diva F in one of the mini games. You can literally poke Miku and she reacts lol. Great content as always!
  • @Myjacob99
The shop still works you just have to fund your account outside of the vita and then you can come back on it and buy games on it
  • @ironhide3732
have you used any of the emulators on the system? if so, what are your opinions on it? (that goes for the native PS1 and PSP emulator also!) i was the graphic designer for the N64 and Dreamcast homebrew emulators for the system, so i would have loved to hear what you think about the vita's immensely expanded library with emulation
  • From someone who’s never cared to repair something. My ps4 changed that. On top of that it was a refurbished ps4 pro from … GameStop. It was rough for the first week until I got it cleaned and it hasn’t piped up since.
  • @kevinlang
Just bought a vita 2000 because I wanted micro usb charging over proprietary sony charger on the 1000
  • @Raphtor13
Yeah - I love my Vita - have had it since Launch (..even pre-ordered it and dreamed about it ahead of its release). Modding it now is so easy too. I was able to get into the PS Store with it though I didn't do much shopping there - just grabbed a few themes. Right now I do tend to grab my 3DS more due to the library but I absolutely love my Vita too. Tales of Hearts R is awesome on Vita!

My black ps vita arrives tomorrow! Can’t wait to try it out. I feel like I missed out on an awesome part of my childhood that could’ve been. After the PSP I only had Nintendo handhelds. Time to catch up as an adult now :D
