Dawnpelt Speedpaint

Ok, it's been 3 years since I posted this, I guess it's about time I answer some questions about this. 1- "I thought Dawnpelt was cream colored?" Answer, yes, she is Cream colored, and she is still cream colored in this picture. When something yellow is put under blue shadows, the colors cancel each other out. The yellow object becomes either, a very dull brown, A weird grey color, or dull brown + kinda green. I did try to control it, make her more yellow, but i was unable to keep her looking bright cream. Tdlr- Yes she's still cream, however shading exists. 2- "What's the story behind this?" Answer- I wanted to capture Dawnpelts paranoia of Jayfeather. This is set right after Flametail's death, and she keeps on insisting that Jayfeather killed her brother. The water represents the lake that drowned Flametail, The eyes in the back are of course Jayfeathers, showing her fear of him. And the water necklace and water celling that is spilling onto the ground beneath her is her feeling like the world around her is collapsing, suffocating her in her own fear of those around her. And some more pretentious bs like that. 3- "How long did this take you?" Answer- Well it's been 3 years since I made this, but I want to say somewhere between 8 to 10 hours. 4- "What tools did you use?" Answer- My tablet is a Intuos pen and touch small, the programs used we're Paint tool Sai for drawing, and Camtasia Studio for recording and Editing. 5- "What was the music you used?" Answer- The song titles come on screen as each song starts, and you can find all of them listed in the description. 6- "You did this wrong! I Dawnpelt isn't insert angry remark about her being not cream or not being a tabby or even fur length This is ugly, you should redo this, I could do better, you suck, Blah blah blah!" Answer- well that's not even a question! But I've got plenty of these messages too so I'll answer it anyways! Honestly send me more of these, it's hilarious. This pic is 3 years old and I couldn't care less about what you think of it, but the fact you are getting so angry at just an image of a pretend cat from a children's book series is just comedy gold. It's so obvious that half of you are either so jealous of my dumb cat art that you want to insult me to make yourself feel better, and the other half is just insulting me in hopes that I'll get rilled up and draw something that THEY want. If you are honestly that angry at 3 year old cat art then please, by all means commission me to redraw this! You can put in specific instructions and make sure I draw this, or any other image exactly as you want it to be! If you don't want to pay me to redraw this then go ahead and redraw it yourself! I honestly became an artist largely because it gave me the power to create what I wanted, with my own skill being the only limitation. Go! Create art! Pay me! Insult me some more it's hilarious! Have fun with your life! If you have any more questions I'll answer them, I may not reply to every comment, but I do try to reply to every question!

In the books I really did hate her bc of how she acted and the senseless blaming of Jayfeather (even if he wasn’t a favorite character of mine), but this art did kinda make me feel for her. She looks so desperate and grief stricken, and the eyes of Jayfeather in the background made it seem like the idea of him haunted her. She’s convinced herself that he’s a murderer.

I know this is a way over used statement but I am utterly SPEECHLESS. This piece, and along with all of your other masterpieces are just so emotion filled and it's very obvious that there is so much meaning and care put into your artwork, that's what makes it so good! may i ask the backstory of this drawing? i know flametail drowned to death in the icy lake, but why did you chose dawnpelt instead? was it because she was trying to blame it on someone? im interested, hope you dont mind!
