#firecracker #sistersage #theboys #homelander

Today's video covers the comic inspiration for a ton of characters within The Boys universe. This video covers all the past and present members of The Seven, Payback, Capes for Christ, Teenage Kix, and even some members of The Boys.

FYI: For character-specific backstories, I did a combination of their comic backstory or in-universe backstory... whichever was available and more fleshed out. Keep in mind the video is primarily catered around what inspired the character themselves, and not what inspired the tv-specific version of that character. In some instances, like Homelander, the show never really outlined what his Vought-created backstory is... they just loosely show him on a Kansas-like farm similar to the Kent Farm and imply his powers are "a gift." In the comics his background is the same as Superman's. So really... I am just trying to clarify what I included and why.
  • Batman and Superman are definitely the most influential comic book characters. So many characters have taken inspiration from them over the years.
  • idk why but when I see Ashley with bald head, I'm thinking Lex despite Sage being the clear representation
  • @Overlord10ca
Stormfront's powers is inspired by Thor, her personality is inspired by the Red Skull.
  • I think Kimiko Miyashiro is more of the mix of X 23 and Cassandra Cain but anyway great video.
  • It's really cool how dude who plays Lamplighter was Ice Man in Xmen 😊
  • @Getwright-
Gunpowder didn’t get a Hawkeye mention? He’s definitely the hawkeye of payback (more like ultimate hawkeye who also uses guns) Great video BTW And season 4 is amazing so far
  • Personally, I think that The Deep’s powers aren’t communicating with fish but that he’s making them sentient and giving them sentience, explaining why his gills spoke to him in season 2
  • Here’s my the boys homage and analogues Homelander-Superman Black Noir -Batman Queen Maeve-Wonder Women A train- Flash and Quicksilver The Deep-Aquaman and Namor Starlight-Dazzler or Stargirl Soldier boy-Captain America Sister sage-I guess Lex Luther (Maybe) Firecracker-Jubilee As for the Boys Billy Butcher-The Punisher Kimiko(the female)- X-23 Mothers Milk- n/a Hughie(Temp v)- Nightcrawler The list goes on Excellent video by the way!

I'd say soldier boy is more of a mix between captain America and havok from X-Men, because soldier boy shoots a huge beam from his chest like havok Also I doubt gecko is based off of anyone and his name is just because he can regenerate like an actual gecko
  • Season 4 is popping off in a big and gross way! Sad that Season 5 is the final season.
  • why is no one acknowledging mister terrific for sister sage’s inspiration
  • @Getwright-
One last thing: i think that within the Context of Payback Black Noir wouldve been the Black widow of there avengers (the stealther assassin one) but that’s purely a meta self lore thing
  • @Getwright-
Sister Sage also has some regeneration/healing (and possibly is tougher than a normal person, -most supers seem to be)
  • I believe when its all said and done kripke will parody every superhero in the world
  • @ImperfectCT
I will be honest the comic discussions you posted years ago got me into watching this show and being happy when the show went far beyond the comic.

I feel like Firecracker takes inspiration from Starlight too in terms of being an evil version – like I see her very much as like a Earth 3 / Bizarro version of Starlight.
