  • The sad part is Disney will see this as mere dollar signs instead of a wakeup call to do better. They don't care about the audience, all they care about is that people give them millions rather than improving their stories.

Ironically if you really look at the movie it focused on 'women' (Riley and her friends), diversity (look at the cast of characters), and 'emotion' (literally the point of the movie). BUT the story is very solid, relatable characters, with character development (looking at you Joy), and it works across the generations (kids will enjoy it and it works for parents). This is what happens when you put the story first instead of "It needs representation".

For me Inside Out 2 is just a flash in the pan. Disney/Pixar need to prove that they're righting the ship with they're movies. 1 movie being a banger in a sea of crap is just an accident. BUT, I'm open to them proving me wrong. In fact I'm hoping they do prove me wrong, im just not holding my breath.

I've said it time and again... People don't always know what they want but they know what they don't want.

One thing this movie had going for it was the actors, writers, and directors didn't insult the fans before the movie came out.

Good for the guys that made it. Good movies should be rewarded. I wish Disney would learn from this, but I don’t expect it. But have to be happy for the guys that earned this huge win.

No. Agenda. Just a Movie about the Personification of a Young Girl's emotions and them learning they have to let her grow. And Riley growing up in the Process.

Disney : Guys, MORE INSIDE OUT SEQUEL NOW!!!!!!
  • @SimpletonSMan
I really do hope Pixar gets it together. They're one of the only studios that focuses on original ideas that can still do well in todays climate. I know they make a lot of sequels, but I dont think a single one of their movies is based on an already existing IP other than their own, and I appreciate that.

My kiddo loved Luca. If he could've sat through the film in the theater I would've taken him.
  • I was afraid this was going to be like Turning Red with some... issues girls have when they get older for Riley but all these new emotions taking over in your early teens is someone, nay anyone, can relate too. It's an awkward time in our lives with a weird transition to adulthood

WHAT? You mean that forcing "representation" and wailing about the "patriarchy" isn't good entertainment?

This movie was amazing. I even cried, which is something I rarely do. Anxiety's hyper movement juxtaposed to Rileys anxiety attack was ripping my heartstrings. It was great to see Joy help Anxiety realize that not everything she thinks might happen will happen. She needed to step back and enjoy the now, not worry about the future all the time. Definitely a good watch and I'd watch it again.

Right on the mark! I took my kid to see it because of your review and we had a great time! It’s the first movie I took her to where she was not only genuinely looking forward to it, but was engaged all the way through (until she had to pee) but she waited as long as she could to go because she was having fun. The message of the movie is chef’s kiss as well. I’m looking forward to her potentially appreciating it more as she gets older the way I did for The Incredibles
  • @cpdreyer
Write a compelling arc and have a character people want to root for while experiencing said arc and people will actually watch it in the theater. Sure is fun to be right sometimes.
  • @trezl
I'm still a parent that doesn't trust Disney. Hopefully this is the beginning of a trend in the right direction, but I still won't give my money to Disney until the trend is confirmed.
  • @jculver1674
It's not complicated. Tell a well-crafted story with universal appeal, don't include any woke shit, and it'll be a success just about every time. Every studio executive in Hollywood knows this, even if they won't admit it; they have a decades-long track record to draw from. The only reason they're not giving us an Inside Out 2 every single weekend is out of pure spite.
  • @zottv1500
Well it’s having good word of mouth and that hasn’t happened in a long time
  • @logansgun
My family and I are in Disneyland RIGHT NOW!! I'll watch when we get home but offering you this like and comment from the Happiest Place on Earth.
  • The thing is that this one was great, but they wont learn. they just ignore the fact this was success cause of good script and no forced pandering in the sake of "inclusion". They will use this money for more crap.
