In this video I'm in the capital of Peru, Lima!! I spend my time exploring Lima's famous culinary scene and getting to know the neighbourhoods. Most visitors to Peru skip Lima and head straight to the touristic city of Cusco, or just spend one day in Lima as a stop over. I think this is a MASSIVE MISTAKE! Lima is such an authentic Latin American city and it has the BEST cuisine in the world in my opinion. There are so many famous dishes to try including ceviche, causa, lomo saltado, a mix of seafood and meat options and compared to the rest of South America the flavours are anything but bland! I'd dedicate at least a few days here to soak up the unique Latin American vibe of Lima and try all its incredible food, and even then you probably won't get to try all of it!

Dear Malini Angelic, Lima is grey only 6 months a year, from May to November, from December to April it's sunny, with hot weather, blue skies and turquoise sea

Visited Lima about 40 years ago. As a child I remembered it as big dusty city. But I’ve heard so many wonderful things about Lima these days. The food, the architecture, the sites and above all the people. I have to visit again!

Although shorter compared to other videos, I enjoyed this vlog so much. Lima offers many things, food is of course one of its pride but the cultural and historic heritage of an important city for several centuries cannot be dismissed. Hopefully you got a chance to witness that too.
  • one of the things that sets you apart is how well composed your narrative is and how informative you are. thank you!
  • You're wrong. Lima has a beautiful blue sky in the summer. Additionally, Lima is a huge city with clear water beaches that you can find to the south, such as Punta Hermosa, Santa Maria, or San Bartolo.

So glad you made it, and I appreciate how you actually went outside of Miraflores, most people on Youtube stick to the fancy side of town

  • I love this video! I got more calm and intimate vibes from this than some of your other videos so it's nice to see a different pace. I never knew Chinese immigrants influenced the cuisine in Peru, looks delicious! Keep up the great work you two <3

We were just in Lima and I have to agree, the food is SO GOOD! We're actually missing it now. We found so many delicious vegetarian places too!

Great Work Angelica. Where is your spanish accent from ? Peru has an special Ocean. Peru is special because of its deep dark blue ocean waters. Very unique in the World. This is due to the hyper- abundance of Plancton. Where "hyper" where means "in excess". This is due to the Peruvian Current also called Humboldt Current. A huge amount of very cold water running from South to North. This current is as big as twice the size of Peru. As big as Colombia + Venezuela together. The hyper-abundance of fish and seafood made of the coastal areas of Peru the perfect scenario for stablishing the first civilizations in all America as Caral with 5,000 years old . Ceviche and several other seafood dishes, is the consequences of that abundance of fish. Also Peru was the origin of Surfing, but not for sport, instead for fishing using Caballitos de Totora. I appreciate a lot your very good informative video. Thanks from Lima.

Lima has the number 1 ranked restaurant in the world, Central. I was luckily able to experience it. At first glance, Lima doesn’t have much for tourist sightseeing, but there are layers to the city.

Limas food is of this planet. Yes it's a grey city but the food is crazy good. A few miles away towards the mountains and you get all the blue sky one could want.
  • @kairikkola
