Finally a to the point, respectable, useful review of this sketchy product. I bought exact same attachment for my Stihl and yeh thanks China for no instructions. But I did buy it for the purpose of attacking weeds in asphalt/concrete cracks, so I think I'll order that OEM Stihl nut you recommended and use this wire turd just for pathway applications. Solid video. Took watching a dozen peckerwood videos and get mad as hell - only to find your video and basically regain my faith in humanity.

You just saved me $25, I was about to buy one, but the video does not lie.

Your technique of using the brush cutter to reach the sidewalk rows is cool. On my brush cutter, I use it tilted more to the left, that way I don't get caught in the clutch. To the right, it stops rotating

"Why is your driveway full of pits and scars?" "YouTube 😅"
  • thank you brother....I was seriously considering buying that wire wheel. now I know better
  • Thanks for the demo. I am so tired of spending time fixing my string trimmer and was thinking about buying a wire wheel. It looks to be as frustrating and time consuming as my double string trimmer. I had a single string trimmer that I loved, worked incredibly well and one of the guys I let store stuff in my garage stole it. I didn't notice until the next summer when I moved and by that time it was too late. Cannot for the life of me find a simple single string trimmer.
  • Glad for this video definitely changes my mind about buying one 😊
  • Thanks for the video can you test metal cutting blades on rechargeable string trimmers.. I have a 40v dewalt and would love to see how brush cutters work on it. You might be the first do do such a video

Was looking to see if the wire brush would fit my Ryobi trimmer, after watching this don’t think I’ll bother. Thanks mate 👍

The locknut needs to show a few threads of the bolt when tight. It appears that the nylon part of the locknut wasn't even touching the threads

What kind of grass do you have? I have some spots in my yard (northern Ohio) that grass refuses to grow and your grass seems to grow right through blacktop, I need some of that type of grass!

only real application I found for it I like, i got a small concrete pad i park a very leaky beater truck on, or for when i do work on the other trucks, its really great for stripping a thin layer of material off the top of the pad, making it look clean again, then i just dump some sealer on it and call it a day instead of fussing around with the power washer for a few hours, i can just maul a thin a layer off, have clean concrete again and not have to mess with it again for a few months.

It works gr8 getting dirt from around ur stump to cut flush to ground

Has somebody who did landscaping for 38 years? I would not wear shorts while using that. Because if a piece of that flew off, it could actually go into your leg even with the shield, which most landscaper removes.

If you just want to punish weeds, this is perfect. But if I had a surface that needed rust removal and no angle grinder, I'd consider this product. It definitely keeps your hands away from the business end, where an angle grinder is a little scary.

Eveready purchase the 6-inch 5 wire head and it worked great aside from concrete aided up pretty fast I guess it's because there wasn't as many cutting wires thank you for this video though as I now know that that will not do any kind of weeding worth of s***I need a six head a forehead or a five head wire instead of the ones with wires all the way around the perimeter it really needs that Gap to get in there and chop
