It’s crazy, we all freaked out about minecraft being 10 yrs old. That felt like 2023. Now it’s 15 yrs old and I feel like time is just a rolling train. No slowing it down.

Still can’t think about it being 15 years without getting the chills. I’m over here just turning 21, on my get my life together mode. I still have such a vivid memory of being in second grade playing demo Minecraft on my friends laptop, good times.

Imo, while there is certainly room to debate this, I think the new capes are a good thing. While they detract from the cake of the originals, all that the originals were was a like exclusive club type thing that only so many players could get in, but the new capes open up that club a bit. I feel like they really bring more of a sense of community, in a way, which is one of the things that Minecraft is about. Fighting the new capes and all players having them is just kinda gatekeeping this exclusive club, which while it does mean the old capes are less cool, it also means that there’s more inclusion of everyone. Not only that, but it’s not like players are getting the old capes or something- the old capes still act as a status symbol of veteran players.
