Fun fact, lore wise, Machinedramon actually survived getting diced up by WarGreymon. Barely. Then went on to jogress with the also almost dead Kimeramon to become Millenniummon. Then there's a whole time travel thing.

Tamers was so awesome. The redemption for Impmon after he was spared was amazing. Glad he eventually turned good.

MagnaAngemon is seriously under-rated. Not only did he quite easily defeat Piedmon, he went against BlackWarGreymon and nearly defeated him - despite only being an Ultimate.

Gallantmon vs Beelzemon was fantastic, not just because of it being the culmination of preceding events that led up to it, not just because of the emotional toll and turmoil that is going on in Beelzemon/Impmon, the Tamers, Takato, and especially Jeri, but because unlike the other fights here, it was a real back and forth fight. Most of the other fights here were one-sided, either the Digi-destined had the edge most of the time, or the villains were more powerful. With these two titans, it was back and forth throughout; one minute they were evenly matched, then Beelzemon had the edge, then Gallantmon unleashed the Lightning Joust, only for Beelzemon to absorb Katsuramon and gain even more power, it was as perfect a battle as you could ask for. I think they said it best when the fight started. Beelzemon: He's strong.... Gallantmon: This isn't gonna be easy...

Jeri explicitly said that she didn't forgive him, she just didn't want anyone else to die

I just got through Digimon Tamers, and Leomon's demise would send Jeri down a severe state of depression that the D-Reaper not only fed off of, but also captured her as a fuel source and sent an evil clone back to the real world with the other Tamers. At least Beelzemon in his rookie form made up with Ai and Mako before making it his mission to help Takato and the others attempt to free Jeri from the D-Reaper.

Pokemon may have been more popular but digimon had the better 1st movie and the better show. I don't care what anyone says these fights went harder and meant more. JETX FOREVER

Got to mention, Digimon tamers, the introduction of the deva's via mihiramon. Stakes are lower than most of these above, but it was a fantastic and intimidating introduction of the middle arc, to the ultimate forms for that season, and to the beginning of Yamaki's transition to the "good side" with his lowest point and questioning of his own choices.

Wargreymon vs Mugendramon 2020 and Pegasusmon vs Cerberumon in 2020 as well... Those fights had amazing animations

Digimon is such an underrated and under appreciated show! Hell even the games and trading cards are extremely good!! The new Digimon cards are way better than the new Pokémon cards.

Surprised one of the many Kouji/Beowulfmon vs Kouichi/Duskmon fights weren't mentioned, especially with how much lore was suddenly dropped onto us with the last two battles

What about greymon vs ogremon from adventure 2020? That battle was pretty epic
