This is a water jug test of a 10mm Nosler 135gr JHP hand-loaded VERY hot to around 1600fps. It was fired from my Glock 29 with a Wolff 23lb recoil spring. The load used was: 13.0gr 800-X, CCI 300 primer, COAL 1.260". PLEASE BE CAREFUL IF YOU DUPLICATE THIS LOAD!!! It may not be safe in your gun, so please work up slowly and safely!!!

Sorry the video portion is so short. It just started raining on us, and I didn't want to mess up my camera, so we only shot one short clip.

Visit my channel for lots more 10mm bullet tests in both water jugs and wax tubes. There's also a video showing you how to make your own "ballistic wax". Thanks for watching!

It was a load work-up from some ancient book. There was a load published in some old book (forget the name) that some friend had (and there are pictures of it on the net), that was OBVIOUSLY suspect. It was essentially this load, but over 1gr hotter! I think the actual published load was 14.6gr, mine was 13.0gr. Eventually, someone brought it to the publisher's attention that the load was suspect. I worked up from around 11.0gr and stopped around 13.0gr.

Hopefully I will one of these days, though it will make me cringe to pay for ammo. I haven't done any ammo testing in a while, but I think I'm going to get back into it.

I meant to say this in my first response, but the original, suspect load has since been pulled from the book. It is unsafe. I would also say that my load is borderline, and definitely unsafe in some guns. I got serious overpressure signs in my G20LS (and had to back off about .5gr), and it would almost certainly cause a case head rupture in my Colt Delta Elite. Always start low and work up slowly.
