Every year for my birthday (after the age of 50) I gave up one thing that does not make me happy. At first it was pantyhose, then dying my hair...and so on. The last thing I gave up was "guilt" - life is good.
  • I remember when I was younger I would walk through the department store cosmetics aisles and makeup representatives would ask me to stop, have a seat on the stool so they could “make me up”. Nowadays I’m lucky to get a smile from them!

Thank you for expressing the feeling of being insulted by seeing cosmetics marketed on 15 y/o faces. At 67 I wish I had saved all the cosmetic receipts I’ve collected in 50 years of cosmetic purchases - we’ve built their cosmetic empires and they’ve put us out on the curb. Thank you for giving us a voice and solid makeup how-tos!
  • I’m 71 and love where I’m at - full of gratitude to be here having survived cervical cancer in my 30s and living with bladder cancer since 2012! While 70 was not a harrowing specter, it was a pivotal milestone that brought a lot of introspection & self assessment. My one bit of ‘wisdom’ is: don’t be afraid to reach outside the box and NEVER do or not do something based solely on what someone else might think. Love & hugs to you, Nikol!! 🥰🙏👍🏼

I will be 82 this summer. I still work and just recently passed my real estate license. I love your channel and just recently started watching! It continually reminds me to be grateful that I am healthy, happy and still enjoy working! I am trying (as I can) your make up tips and they are so encouraging. I have never used botox or had any cosmetic work done so I am pretty natural with grey hair and wrinkles. Keep it up!
  • At 69, I am happier than I’ve ever been. Not because my life has changed dramatically but because I choose happiness. I spent so much of my life worrying, caring what others thought, trying to please other people, trying to be thin, trying to look younger, that I missed so much “life”. I think about the next 30 years of my life as my youth. As long as my body will allow, I’ll keep growing and learning. My advice is to find things you’re really interested in and devote much of your day to them. I do things I never thought about like watercolours, junk journals, hand made gifts, new recipes, etc. You’ll never know how happy it can make you if you don’t “jump”.
  • I am 71 and am the happiest I have ever been ! I feel once we release the pressures of society, being thin, staying physically beautiful, marrying a successful and handsome partner, I am just exhausted listing these pressures! I had a successful career, started a vintage on line business , and learned to overcome my mistakes in relationships and learn from them and put them behind me. I laugh a lot, am grateful for how far I have come in life and have forgiven all those who hurt me, I feel free finally. Thank you for this video, to everyone, keep driving down the highway in life to your next adventure, we are so worth it👏❤️👍
  • I turned 80 in November..and it hit me like a rock....I was shocked I was this old...l don't tell anyone my age because I feel they will treat me differently. I love this episode and will try hard to change my attitude on aging.

Jamie Lee’s reaction is how your followers cheer for you Nikol! You look radiant today and I love and appreciate the positive influence you have added to my life. Thank you!

Sharon Stone is basically my personal favorite. She is a stroke survivor like me and Whenever I feel the rare moments of hopelessness, I always look at how she sees things to remember I share her philosophy of how lucky I am to get the chance to age.

European women just rock "pro-aging." They never seem to be "invisible." Americans are so youth obsessed and the ads show it. Older women seem to be encouraged by society to disappear. This was a wonderful video, Nikol. I've always thought Jamie Lee Curtis and her gorgeous grey hair is inspirational!! She was one of the first to go grey. I want to be Helen MIrrim when I grow up (I'm 68). Great quotes from some great ladies. Thanks! Saving this video!
  • Agreed. The models at department store beauty counters should reflect the demographic buying the products, and I have yet to meet a 15yr old able to afford to do that.
  • "The most important thing I can tell you about aging is this: If you really feel that you want to have an off-the-shoulder blouse and some big beads and thong sandals and a dirndl skirt and a magnolia in your hair, do it. Even if you're wrinkled." Maya Angelou
  • Nikol, thank for shing the light on the stupidity of the beauty industry's not recognizing older women! They truly need to listen to the people who buy their products!
  • Nikol, I am in Canada and have been watching your channel for about 6 months. I am new to even looking at YouTube and have really curated my viewing to information that is important. You have become important. Your approach to makeup, living and life is refreshing and sometimes exactly what I need to hear. You are a gift I give myself - so thank you. I am in my 70’s and while aging is not for the feint of heart, I am the happiest I have ever been - with myself and the life I am living. Every day is a gift and I try to make a difference…… every day! Thank you for being a woman of substance.
  • I loved this!!! I just turned 78 and, most of the time, I feel far younger. I am thankful for each new morning that God has bestowed upon me and try to accomplish something. Sometimes that includes a nap‼️
  • If it wasn't for you and Angie I don't know where I would be. I spent my grandsons birthday semi hiding in the kitchen because my ex and his wife were in the living room and I felt so ugly and wrinkled with my makeup that day. I'm turning 59 in February and all of a sudden I've noticed my aging face. I think half of it's my fault. I've been down and left myself go a bit but maybe I'm also just finally aging enough to be noticed. My kids and their friend keep telling me I look good but I don't feel it. I think is within me. I gotta change my way of thinking. I promised myself after watching you video I'm gonna do better in the outside and the inside. Thank you so much Hun.😔❤️🌹🥀
  • I'm so happy you made this Video. I am over 60 and tired of seeing teenagers on COMMERCIALS. THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO.
  • @jmullen1584
One of the reasons I like your channel so much is that you help us women who are in our 50, 60, 70 years (I’m 65) find the products that are better for our skin and how to use them. I have started using products that I would have never purchased because a teenager is the model they use. I just figure, “oh that’s not for me” and move on. I would like to know how to take care of my skin & how to use makeup on a person who does not use Botox, fillers, expensive procedures, etc. We can look lovely even without procedures. Im all for enhancing what I’ve got but I don’t want to change my natural look. Bring on those older models! I cannot wait to see them.

Almost 72 & I am loving it. My body is different & changing but change is life itself. I love my gray & I embrace it all. Grateful to be alive & see what is around the corner.
