Miss Juwanna deWitt is just one of the extraordinary subjects featured in Canada’s a Drag, a docu-series from CBC Arts that celebrates drag artists who are pushing through the darkness to give us all more light.

Few exemplify the idea that it is never too late to start over more powerfully than Miss Juwanna deWitt. At 77 years old, she is one of the oldest regularly performing drag artists in the country. And she's on a mission to build bridges, break down walls and deliver a message about overcoming fear and finding hope.

This was a delight to watch mostly because the performer was utilizing drag to help make a segment of our community feel valued. ❤
  • Wonderful...but more so because this performer isn't jumping on some modern band wagon, but was true to themselves way b4 it was considered OK, or even cool. As someone who works in the entertainment industry, I know, that to last, u have to be damn good. And, at the end of the day, we just all want a night out with a bit of fun...and performers add incredible colour to our world. x
