Treasure Planet, Sinbad, Atlantis, El Dorado, Spirit... Those were the good animated movies back in the day
  • It might be an underrated disney movie, but the part where he chases his dad who is leaving is the most powerful scene for me
  • Other Disney villains: start out evil and end being more evil John Silver: start out looking for the treasure. At the end picking to save his best friend life

Still my favorite Disney movie 🍿 I don't care what anyone says! There was something really special about this. I'm glad I got to see this masterpiece in theaters

I cried so hard when I first saw this years ago. For anyone who has ever experienced how it is to be abandoned, to be unseen by your parents and to feel lost and confused while navigating your teenage years, this movie resonate so deeply.

I tell you what, of all the movies I’ve seen nothing hits harder than Jim looking up to Silver as a father figure! So much better than all the stereotypical romance in the Disney movies. I think at lot of us can relate to this one way or another!! 🥺

The thought of this movie becoming forgotten gives me literal anxiety
  • Is it just me? That this song is one of the underrated songs that hits you right in your heart

Sinbad...Treasure Planet...Spirit...Atlantis...El Dorado...Mulan...Aladdin...I grew up with these movies. The good movies. All of them were great but...Treasure Planet was just a complete masterpiece. The animation style, the voice acting, the character development, the emotion...to this day this movie makes me feel things I never thought I could feel again. These were the good old days...But a wise man once told me "You never know you're in the good old days, until those days have come and gone". My memories of the time I spent with my grandparents watching these movies...dressing up like Jim...singing this very song...I'll always hold them dear to my heart.

This and Atlantis were so underrated when they came out.
  • Treasure Planet failed because Disney wanted it to fail. Treasure Planet was the last 2D film Disney did. They weren't interested in old school animation anymore, they were headed into the computer and 3D era. They deliberately under advertised the film and then the trailers they released told the whole story of the movie. Disney wanted it to flop as an excuse to leave 2D animation behind. And it worked.

Seeing this as a dude 8n his mid20s I appreciate the fact that the film doesn't center about some love fantasy tale. It's just about a young boy who is seeking his purpose in the cosmos ang going through many obstacles to get there. I'm sure many of us can sorta resonate with him
  • @reeppergames
still one of the greatest disney movies of all time to this day

I don't care what anyone says, this movie was amazing! It was just so different which is why it was underrated

When my dad passed 2yrs ago, I Still listen to this song to remind myself that even though my dad is gone, he's still with me in my memories and In my heart. I love you dad❤
  • Am i the only one that cries at the scene where Jim and Silver say goodbye...its just such a beautiful moment i cant hold back the tears. It really makes me appreciate that i have a father who will do anything for me and will always be there. Silver is the father that Jim deserves, for even after he could have everything he searched for his entire life, he chose the young man he quite accidently became a father figure too. Its just honestly heart breaking and beautiful
