I, HiTop Films, said I was done making Spider-Man videos, video essays, Spider-Man Video Essays, whatever you want to call them. After my Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man series, I truly believed I was done. But then I realized... screw that! I’m HiTopFilms and HiTop loves talking about Spider-Man.
I also realized that nobody has done a deep dive into The Amazing Spider-Man 1 or The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Marc Webb’s (Kinda) Amazing Spider-Man. Andrew Garfield, Marc Webb, Emma Stone and the entire cast and crew put a lot of love into these movies, so maybe it’s time to dive deep into that love. This is sort of an extension of The (Almost) Amazing Spider-Man, that was a quick 10 minute video talking about one really great scene in this movie, this video, Marc Webb’s (Kinda) Amazing Spider-Man talks about everything. They good, the bad, the Sony. I hope you goons enjoy. I hope this lives us to the Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man videos. Much love.

The raimi and webbs fans fighting each other, when they have the same enemy: avi arad.

I'm so sick of people telling me my favorite Spider-man movie is bad because Andrew Garfield's hair was too cool
  • “Let me get this straight, you think TASM is a good movie?” Me: I do and i’m tired of pretending it’s not

The fact that we’re seeing Andrew again this Christmas is truly a blessing
  • The real victim in all of this nonsense is Andrew Garfield. Imagine being a huge Spider-Man fan, learning to act (and getting recognition) and finally getting the role of Spiderman. Everything is going so well. Even the director is great. Then, the movie turns out mediocre to decent. A lot of people hate it, a lot of people hate you but you get fans, too. You hoped for an amazing spider man movie but it didn't turn out as amazing as the Sam Raimi movies. "Maybe the next one will be better," you say to yourself. But it doesn't turn out great, it isn't even mediocre. It is bad. Now, people hate you. Everyone hates the movie and everyone hates you. You get the title of the worst Spiderman. You immediately get kicked and everyone celebrates. Now, a lot of people know you as that one bad Spiderman in that cash grab wannabe Spiderman Cinematic Universe. It's a real kick in the balls for anyone let alone a Spider-Man fan

Can you imagine what Andrew must’ve been thinking? “I finally got the opportunity to portray my childhood hero............and people don’t like it.”

With how everyone is reacting to Garfield's Spiderman in NWH, I think I can say that this video aged really well.
  • with the popularity of "Director's cut" nowadays for once I actually like to see a Director's cut of Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man
  • @scrat2845
you can see at the end that Andrew truly understands the “anyone can wear the mask” mentality. A shame he was so passionate about the character yet his time with him was cut short.
  • @IsaacWale2004
Andrew is honestly the best part of the whole movie, he is such a good actor...
  • @johnychrist5475
11:10 "as time goes by, I think they'll realize that his performance is iconic" That has aged like fine wine

Garfield and Stone were genius casting choices. It's a shame that Sony let them down by hiring poor writers and strong-arming Marc Webb too much. Tobey will always be my favourite, no doubt because he was my childhood hero, however Raimi is a top-class director and the scripts were of similar high quality. Andrew needs to be given another movie with the care and attention he deserves, especially after he was one of the many highlights in NWH.

The Flash-Peter chemistry honestly gave me chills. I loved those scenes where Flash was empathizing with Peter about his loss... It's like... Yeah bully people but at least he understood when to not be a dick about it.
  • @peterparker9214
These movies absolutely have story problems….no question there. However, the small relationship between Peter and Flash, is absolutely incredible. It’s the first time I’ve seen a realistic iteration of high school kids in a movie. Brilliantly done by Webb.

SPOILER WARNING… i truly hope that after no way home andrew gets the appreciation that he deserves. the charisma and the love for the character truly stands out amongst all the actors that have played the beloved character. andrew garfield to me. is the damn peoples spider-man
  • 2 things that can ruin a whole superhero movie: Avi Arad and studio interference. Thanks, Hitops, for bringing awareness to the pricks who are really to blame for the ruining of our beloved character's story.
  • @jessemastro
“Let’s begin on page one.” The final line of the film, and holly shit I never realized the weight and significance of that line. I always loved this film, but this video just further boosted all those emotions I feel when watching The Amazing Spider-Man. I adore this film.

Damn, Andrew really stole the scenes he was in in No Way Home. Dude is really charismatic and a really good actor. Makes you wonder what a good script would do. I really hope he is the spiderman in Tom Hardy's Venom.
