Dusknoir and Electivire are two cases impacted by "Gen 4 happened and the Physical/Special split happened". Their pre-evolutions in Gen 3 would have relied on Shadow Ball (physical) and Thunderbolt (special) as their stabs. But Electabuzz evolved into a Pokemon with a better physical stat while getting no new Electric physical move, and Dusclops did the same while losing Shadow Ball (since it became Special) and they didn't even gave it Shadow Claw... It's infuriating to me how many generations it took to give some of these Pokemon a good stab of their main type AND main offensive stat after the split, or at least one without drawback (not counting the two-turns moves, not counting Wild Charge). Poltergeist didn't happen until GEN 8, and we are only now unlocking Superslam Cell for Pokemons like Luxray who needed this SIXTEEN YEARS AGO!

Since Mr. Rime is known as the Comedian Pokémon, it should 110% get Chilly Reception. It would be amazing in higher tiers with the ability to be a faster pivot compared to Slowking. Plus it'd get a Defense boost and Mr. Rime has low Defense

Farigiraf is amazing in VGC at least. And it gets better with higher power level arguably so its immune to power creep

To this day, it still baffles me that for some reason almost third of Dusknoir's evolution stat increase is in...Speed of all things. Why?

There's one universally good thing that came from all of these evolutions. They allow the pre-evo to hold eviolite

Plot Twist Dudunsparce top cut a regional Ivar Vliegr (it also had a Squawkability on the team)

Electivire main flaw really is that they made it slower without really making it bulkier, the thing has almost as much bulk as Electabuzz without its good speed. Electric has the advantage of only being weak to ground which is probably why most of them are frail, so if Vire had good HP and defenses it could likely crave niches as a bulky mixed attacker, especially if it got Bulk Up earlier.

Fun fact: G-Mime and Mr Rime have the closest to a perfect Super Effective Moveset only being surpassed by W-Kyurem... ·Freeze-Dry ·Shadow Ball ·Focus Miss Blast ·Stomping Tantrum/HP-Ground (Kyurem gets Earth Power and one of the Highest Base SpAtk Stats in the game) Hitting a massive 1032 Existing Pokemon Super Effectively, and only 160 hit for Neutral Damage (that's 86.7% of the game taking hits Super Effectively) with 0 Not Very Effective or Immune Opponents!

I love Dusknoir as a Design, but 2 changes need to happen to make it better. 1- Looking at the design, it should regain Levitate as it's primary Ability. 2- Gain Moonlight as its Recovery move.

Dunspace getting a dragon evolution is a clear case of people not knowing what a Tsuchinoko is. It's a joke of "danger beast" and it's pretty clear to see that Dunsparce was almost meant to be a troll of a Pokemon. Dundunsparce just continues that trend.

I feel like PokeRogue proved how much Dusknoir is starving for recovery. It becomes an amazing pokemon with just Drain Punch and Bulk Up.
