Marcus’ resume is incredible. From Luther Vandross to Miles Davis to solo artist! He’s a bass icon!!!

He truly is one of the best. So much groove, control and conviction in that playing.

Marcus Miller, Stanley Clarke and the Late Mark Adams, Louis Johnson, Bernard Edwards and Aston Barrett from Bob Marley band had some of the best bass lines back in the days.

40 ans de basse derrière moi, Marcus nous délivre LE SOLO de la mort, tout y est et on est dans les années 80 ! j'ai eu l'occasion de papoter avec lui, il est adorable en plus.

I'm surprised his teeth aren't made of diamond after being under all that pressure! <3 I love it!

A lotta young “virtuosos” now. And they’re “hot” because YouTube allows them instant access to any and every technique you any to learn. But before YouTube Marcus miller, jaco, Stanley clark, jameron, Louis Johnson, paved these roads that these new hipsters now glide down on their skateboards. It sickens me when they act like the stuff Marcus and these guys did back then “ain’t nothin”

I initially didn't understand MM and his slapping...Now I think I am mature enough to appreciate his technique is one of the best, someone can master during their lifetime.

I love David Sanborn, he’s one of my sax heros, but I swear every live video of him from the 80s looks like he spent the entire decade under the influence
