We decide to make the most of our travel day home by getting up early and going for breakfast. After a review of our stay at Disney's All Star Music resort, we leave our bags with Bell Services and head to Epcot.
We have some time to spare so we jump on Soarin' Over California for the last time and then walk through International Gateway to The Yacht Club for an amazing breakfast at the Ale & Compass.
We enjoy a walk around The Boardwalk before heading back to the All Star Music resort, collecting our bags and booking an Uber to MCO. It's a busy Friday afternoon with many domestic and international flights so it takes a long time to get through security but we eventually make it to the gate area.
We board the plane and get settled for our flight. However, a technical issue causes a delay and despite the best efforts of the Virgin Atlantic technical crew it cannot be fixed so, after three hours in a very hot cabin with no air conditioning, the flight is a cancelled and we disembark the aircraft. Unfortunately, our luggage has to stay onboard so we only have our hand luggage.
Virgin Atlantic have booked overnight accommodation for everyone and provide information of where to go. They were unable to provide transport so we get an Uber to the hotel which is near International Drive.
We are not overly happy with the quality of the accommodation so we decide to book a night at a Disney resort so that we can end the trip with a more positive experience.
We end up at The Walt Disney World Dolphin Resort at around midnight, so we grab some sandwiches from their quick service cafe, Fuel and all it a night.
The next morning we de-brief the experience of the previous night and take a walk along The. Boardwalk before enjoying a quick lunch at Fuel and heading back to MCO.
This time all is well and we fly home without further incident.

We are Keith, Tracey, Luke, and Daisy. We have been going on family vacations to Walt Disney World, Orlando, Florida for almost 19 years. We have stayed on International Drive, Universal Resorts, and several Walt Disney World Resorts and became Disney Vacation Club members in 2022. Oh my gosh, just watching your video and I’m saying to my husband, “don’t do it, don’t do it!!”as you’re in the hotel room after your flight was cancelled. We have done it once and never will again. You were so graceful and kind. Just another reason we adore you and your family. So glad you landed back at Disney!

I can't believe it but this vlog made me appreciate you both more! Its really refreshing to see how the two of you handled the upset of your travel day! It is really hard to be derailed while traveling, but you cant control everything that happens around you but you can control how to react to it. Well done and thank you for sharing!

Brilliant vlog as always 😍. We've stayed at The Dolphin twice and loved it! Just came back yesterday . We paid £6k for 2 weeks there with Virgin, all in with flights. This time we upgraded to an Epcot firework view and it was wonderful waking up to the sun rising over the lake and the yacht and beach hotel. Also sitting on the balcony in the evening watching the Spaceship Earth ball and all it's colours 😍😍😍. Did you realise you can also walk to Hollywood Studios from The Dolphin? It takes about 15 mins along the river. Stunning and fun to turtle watch. The friendship boats also go to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. Such a perfect location. Keep doing what you're doing...it's brilliant!

Swan and dolphin are great. Stayed in both for one night just to get the extra evening hours for deluxe guests (yes you get that when staying in swan and dolphin too)

Precious! You will always miss your children. However, so many new experiences will come and so many memories. Just makes all the moments more valuable. Only great memories ahead and feel everythinfg you need. I cry when they aren't looking!! Listen to Return to Pooh Corner" From Kenny Loggins. I listen as I clean my house and makes memories spark into my mind and come alive! It only gets better!

Glad everything turn out ok in the end for you both. A similar thing happened to us last year! Flight cancelled and it became very chaotic at first but with a slight difference, Virgin put us up in a 5 star hotel right across the road from Disney Springs and provided us with a complimentary evening meal & breakfast plus the next day arranged for coach transportation back to MCO. But I suppose it’s just the luck of the draw in finding rooms for a plane load of people. 😊

Hate that your flight was canceled. This is why I carry a day's set of clothes and my bathroom essentials in my carry-on. We went to Canada and our luggage was lost for 2 days. We still had to go to the store for extras, but at least I could shower and change into fresh clothes first! :) Love your videos!!!

I loved this vlog! We also have a channel and usually don’t film travel home day either. So fun watching you get to return to Disney. I actually laughed out loud when you ended up at the Swan and Dolphin. So fun! Glad you got home safe and sound. Really enjoyed this vlog series. We are heading to Disney tomorrow for…. DRUM ROLL…. Thank you for sharing your trip with us, it has been a great vlog series. We’ve missed seeing Luke & Daisy, you are such a sweet family, but it’s been so good to see a trip from a couple’s perspective and we’ve seen more of the lovely Tracy 😊. I love how positive you 2 are, even when you ended up in the unpleasant room, without your luggage, you were still trying to be diplomatic and not whinging about it.
