That's what you call a true great artiste - a two time Oscar winner yet so hungry for a role she believed in and with such humility... kudos Sally Field!

When I first saw Sally Field as Mary Todd, it just immediately seemed to work. She really nailed that part, and now I know what she did to earn it. No Hollywood snobbery here.
  • I just can't get enough of her !!! And I'm proud of her for pursuing Mary !!! Because like everything she does she nailed it !!

Honestly she was the emotional center of the film. Her Mary Todd seemed to humanize Lincoln. Hats off
  • as a small time, unknown actor who is constantly auditioning and dealing with the same issues, it is helpful and heartening to hear that someone of her stature, accomplishments and history deals with the same process. Thank you Sally, for being so open and vulnerable.

The genuine humility of Sally Field, in telling this tale, in her openness to a gruelling audition process, and in her performances, is the secret of her incredible power and beauty. I will always love Sally Field.

What a gracious lady. And what a great actress.
  • @VtRD
She can hold her own opposite Daniel Day Lewis in the film Lincoln. Best portrayal of Mary Todd Lincoln on screen.

What a story. Two Oscars, three Emmys, two Golden Globes, and a couple of Tony nominations...and she is happy to do an audition to pursue a role the director does not see her in by auditioning. Twice. Such a professional.
