I just want to say that I absolutely love your content Fern! Everytime you come out with another video I get so excited!!!
-
For your wellbeing, I vote for eliminating those that are either not amazing to you, or appearing as redundant.
-
hahahaha when you said "super strenght activated" ππππ

Before filling with moss, bend the wire into a U shape, fill and ziptie. I count my squares on the original pole, cut the same for the new one, it slips inside. You may need a thin garden pole for the whole pole, it gives more stability. I love watching your videos.

Hi Fern! I have successfully sized up my verrucosum to a nice mature plant and I have found a few things that you might find helpful :β). Firstly they like to stay hydrated, and they respond really well to a lot of fertiliser (I use 3-5mL get foliage focus per litre). I also have my verrucosum in morning direct sun, but limited light in the afternoon which it seems to love. I find that lots of velvet leaves like a bit of direct sun, but they donβt like it all day as it reduces the size of leaves due to the processes of respiration and water loss in the cells. Also I have found that they do not like to be chopped up unless they have a very extensive root system - it makes them revert to smaller and juvenile growth. I have my verrucosum on a close back moss pole because they do not like to dry out in the pole at all - I have found that a drying moss pole actually stunts their leaf size π’ You probably knew all of this already but seen as you mentioned that you would like to someday get a mature specimen I thought I would let you know π of course there is no obligation to try these methods either, as the plant hobby is all about having fun!

Adding cups furiously to my next grocery pick up! What a genius idea!
-
I need to try the cup method...
-
Audibly gasped when I saw the notification π₯°
-
Excellent content. Iβm in love with my moss poles. Iβve always used the βdrip cupβ method with a single thump tack hole filling them up before work and letting them do their thing.
-
The cup method is my go to for all of my moss poles. It is a gamechanger with watering them. I hope it works well for you too.
-
You have reaffirmed exactly why I will never have a moss pole especially a wire one. LOL! π
-
For those really tall moss poles, I think it would be better to add some kind of rod inside for stability.
-
They all look so good !!β¨ ππ΅πΏππ

Push pin, push pin! π₯³ That's the pole watering method I use and it works fabulously!
-
I just got my dream philodendron a verrucosum and yours is stunning!!
-
Everything you do is beautiful Fern love the channel
-
love the cup idea, why didnt we think of this already haha its so simple! as always, love your content fern, always keep me motivated to get plant chores done! I think its time u get some merch on the go, I reckon yours would be insane! π

Hi Fern put long Bamboo sticks in the middle of the moss to stabilizer both poles. β€
-
what I like to do with my mesh poles is wrap then with cling wrap. it holds moisture for so long. I also try to wrap the cling wrap around the stem but not wrapping the petioles. works well for me.

I use my gardening gloves when I make my moss poles with the wire, try that if you have some maybe next time π Your poor hands girl!
