  • Being up on Crib Goch would be scary enough without a ruddy great helicopter close by.

This shows how skilled the RAF pilots are.

GREAT BRITISH MOUNTAINS , GREAT WALES , GREAT HELICOPTER , GREAT PILOT , RESPECT .

I was amazed at the skill of the pilot. Cross winds, updrafts and fog. But the helicopter held its station so well that it looked like it was tethered. Without the helicopter it would have been a difficult and painful rescue mission.

Crib Goch is so fuckin awesome, have only done it once in the summer months where it was still very wet and cloudy but it's straight forward enough if keep your focus and such a buzz. Tried to get to it in winter when it was covered in snow but didn't have the right equipment and turned back. Now I know what is needed in the later months of the year to conquer it, I will be heading back. Respect this mountain or it can bite back hard.

I read that 8 people die a year on this mountain....That means it's more deadly then Everest right?

I don't know why I see so many people attempting Grib Goch that simply just don't have the experience or the skill. Then stuff like this would not happen.
