Revisiting a classic, Spore continues to be the gift to the world that keeps on giving. As weird and janky as it is, there's something strangely comforting about returning to the title. Even all these years later.

Given my lackluster personal history with it though, it was nice to be able to come back stronger than ever, proving to myself that I have what it takes to beat the game even under the most dire of circumstances. Turns out, I just used to really suck at games.

If you're in the market for games at great prices, and want to support the channel in the process, you can use the following link to reach my favorite platform for it in Humble. I can receive funds from purchases made through said link, but I've also used their services for years. Make of that what you will.

Can we all respect the fact that he always reads out his script like he's Shakespeare
  • @claybricks3689
this script was WAY overqualified for a video game narration bro 💀💀
  • @rogofos
my guy developed chicken strategy being a completely useless creature with no way to survive but making more of them so fast that they simply don't go extinct

I love imagining the moment that he realized “oh, hell. I can make the mouth smaller” meaning that he wasn’t truly the worst

So THIS is why some animals have unnecessary nerfs irl. They're simply doing a challenge mode.

“I’d more often than not find myself to be a bit of proverbial dust within a wind that my skin had never known.” True as hell

"They may have been eye sores but thats for everyone else to deal with, for we have not been born with such weaknesses." DAMN
  • “I was lost, blind, alone in an ocean of problems, and I… I was one of them” dude, you didn’t have to call me out so hard like that 😒

it being green makes it too good at camouflage, but if its too colorful it may be threatening and a sign of being venomous

Wow... I swear every other time I've seen one of these spore challenges, the run is basically over by the tribal stage, since it doesn't usually matter what your creature is like. Somehow, you actually managed to carry the difficulty into even the city stage. How does one even do that?

“I can’t possibly see why that wouldn’t work…mostly because I lack eyes” that line made me laugh way more then it had any right to

I love this gonzo journalism approach to video game narration.

Kinda weird feeling so much emotion for a virtual jelly bean, but hearing the trials and triumphs of a being determined to spurn God's own decree is evocative. Also, love 9:45, even creatures you dont ask to be friends turn you down

Shitty zergling with zergling wave tactics, now this is the type of content i like to see.

The cry of these small creatures... I picture them as the most terrifying thing ever... hollow knight grub noises
  • @zswords
"I would locomote via AGGRESSIVELY scooting along the ground toward my potential friend or food..." The sheer eloquence of the delivery of a line this absurd as it happens is a thing of beauty, well done good them.
