Casey Stoner, a former MotoGP champion, is still closely involved in the motorcycle racing industry and closely follows the happenings of each season. The retiring Australian racer responded candidly when new MotoGP regulations for 2027 were recently introduced, capturing his interest. In an effort to advance the competition, these restrictions bring about considerable modifications to aerodynamics and electronics.

By the time the 2027 MotoGP season arrives, ten years will have gone by since the last significant regulatory change for the series was implemented in 2016. In that year, Dorna Sports' ambitious ambition to increase grid numbers and the competitiveness of a championship ravaged by the aftermath of the 2008 financial crisis came to fruition.

The whole point of the new rules is so the rice burners can catch up

I don't want to speculate, but I don't know why it crossed my mind that I think the 2027 regulations are based on the wishes of the JAPAN manufacturers to DORNA lol... who have been unable to compete in the last 3 years with Ducati.... to be honest, lowering the CC from 1000 to 850 is very doesn't make sense... damn..

I have to agree with Stoner's comments. I don't want to see "road relevant" bikes with lots of electronics to make them easier to ride, I want to see snarling beasts that very few can tame. I don't want to see races won by engineering advances, I want to see races won by the best & bravest. Get rid of the bullsh!t & bring back the true prototypes & may the best man win.

Once they move away from prototype bikes, might as well watch Superbikes.

Bring back the racer riding the bike with throttle control and just how hard he can brake. Think you would see a different race

I would love to see them go back to the days of less electronics and more rider skill. If that happened Marquez would dog walk the whole grid without a doubt! These guys are very good don’t get me wrong but they couldn’t compete with Marquez when it comes to sheer talent and instinct.Hes the best I’ve ever seen

Honda are very ready as of now for 2027 MotoGP rule changes, and it's a nightmare to some manufacturers
  • @elwap0
Casey is faster than all of them...because he is actually not human..
  • @totzinfo
going to 850cc for MotoGP is all about emissions and sustainable fuel
  • @ohkey2999
Yamaha cp4 will have a chance again...
  • @PantheraFin
How can the japanese manufactors cope with the shame these regulations bring to them?
  • @user-xw4hn7lb3x
Its all about emissions. Motogp tech eventually trickles down to the road bikes. Smaller engines and woke fuel.
  • @Mambojambo157
Ex riders always say this and are always complaining. But DiGiantonio a current rider, said these modern bikes are amazing to ride and GP must always be the best a bike can be. He makes a good point. The racing today is the closest I have ever seen in my 30 plus years of watching. I think you all whinge too much .
  • @dublion7
I’m tired of technology taking over races, instead of driver skill. There should be a limit to the amount of tech on bikes.
