The last time a German group packed their bags this quickly, they were escaping to Argentina.

Brazil had Neymar, Argentina had Messi, Netherlands had Van Persie and Germany had a TEAM

Fun facts about this match: A key factor to Brazil's humiliation was Captain Thiago Silva's suspension for collecting too many yellow cards and Star Player Neymar's injury in the previous match, giving Brazil a significant handicap. Brazilian player Fred, who had already underperformed throughout the World Cup, became one of the most heavily criticized players after this match. When he was subbed off the fans would boo whenever the camera filmed him. The darkest moment for Brazil at this match was from the 23rd to 29th minute, where the Germans pummelled Brazil with 4 goals in 6 minutes (Klose with one, Kroos with two in quick succession, and Khedira with another one). After the first half, with Germany leading 5-0, the German players decided they didn't want to humiliate Brazil (so much for that plan), playing much less aggressively and tuning down goal celebrations in the second half. Still didn't stop them from scoring two more goals though. And my favourite fact: The football rivalry between Brazil and Argentina is so intense that, despite being utterly annihilated by them in this match, Brazilian fans still went to cheer for Germany against Argentina in the final.

Brazil: Dealing with massive COVID outbreaks, a failing economy, and a political crisis. YouTube algorithm: Let's cheer them up with this gem from 2014.

As a german I still remember we watched the game in a pub. The waiter gave out a shot for everyone whenever germany scored. Half of the pub was drunk by the sixth goal. Good times.
-
Those people who had watched the match knows that Germany could score more than 7, they could score nearly 10 or 12 but they show mercy after seeing Brazil people crying and after that they were just defending instead of attacking for goal
-
Blitzkrieg is a hell of an attack.
-
This match makes people cry for any of these reasons: Joy [German] Despair [Brazil] Laughter [Mostly anyone else]
-
Brazillian mom: you slept alot, wake up, it's 8! Brazillian son: what? They're still scoring?

As a German, let me tell you, we also went through a mixed bag of feelings: from happiness to disbelief, back to happiness, to second-hand embarrassment and pity, mild annoyance about the Brazilian goal, back to happiness mixed with a twinge of guilt. What a ride it was.
-
"I just want to bring happiness to these people" If you're referring to the Germans, you're 100% correct!
-
Brazil: âwell at least Argentina didnât win the World Cupâ

Brasil: We got absolutely destroyed by Germany France 1940: First time?

I am half Brazilian/half British. I remember well that day in the stadium because I was there. There was never any bad feelings from us towards Germans. Just disappointment with our own team! We Brazilians actually started supporting Germany after Brazilâs shameful defeat.

Brazil surely lost the game 7-1 at home in WC semis but not a single German supporter was reported to be harmed. This reflects Brazilians truly respect the game of football. Unlike the nation where both the semis and the final of EURO 2020 was held. Love to Brazil from a proud German supporter. â€ïž
