As a german I still remember we watched the game in a pub. The waiter gave out a shot for everyone whenever germany scored. Half of the pub was drunk by the sixth goal. Good times.

Those people who had watched the match knows that Germany could score more than 7, they could score nearly 10 or 12 but they show mercy after seeing Brazil people crying and after that they were just defending instead of attacking for goal

As a German, let me tell you, we also went through a mixed bag of feelings: from happiness to disbelief, back to happiness, to second-hand embarrassment and pity, mild annoyance about the Brazilian goal, back to happiness mixed with a twinge of guilt. What a ride it was.

I am half Brazilian/half British. I remember well that day in the stadium because I was there. There was never any bad feelings from us towards Germans. Just disappointment with our own team! We Brazilians actually started supporting Germany after Brazil’s shameful defeat.

Brazil surely lost the game 7-1 at home in WC semis but not a single German supporter was reported to be harmed. This reflects Brazilians truly respect the game of football. Unlike the nation where both the semis and the final of EURO 2020 was held. Love to Brazil from a proud German supporter. ❤️
