Getting over someone you never had is a whole different kind of pain and whole different kind of healing process.

Memories flow through my whole body listening to this and remembering being 20 in 1998 when city of angels came out. Gosh what an exciting time in my life. When memories are tied to a song, the song never gets old.

Possibly his best live performance ever. Listen to that running bass line. That’s talent folks.

that guitar tuning has only one sole purpose: to play Iris
  • @JeffBourke
The unique tunings this guy uses in so many songs... he is pretty genius

Can we just take a moment to praise Johnny for playing this song with five strings
  • @bbaasje

John is one hell of a musician and writer. 20+ years and this song still hits me every time. These guys created a song that reaches so many people in their own personal way.

I was 12 when this song came out I am 36 now and I love it even more ❤️❤️❤️❤️90's what a Era for music

He's getting older but this song will never get old for me. This is a sad song but the way he plays it and sing it here makes it more sadder, because i can't feel the passion & emotion within him.
  • It's been more than 20 years, and still one of the coolest songs..
  • How can you hate this song? I know it's overplayed and all, but at least it's heartfelt and not overproduced pop music. Every band would sell their soul just to be able to have one song like this one. It probably is the best rock ballad of all time.

I've always felt this is a very emotionally charged song. Every time I hear it, I feel it deep.
  • This song means the world to me I've been in love with this woman for 20 years.
