Initially met with warmth and hospitality by Indonesians upon finding refuge in Aceh province, new arrivals have since faced an increasingly hostile reception from local communities as greater numbers of Rohingya refugees seek sanctuary on its shores.

  • Arabic countries are so rich; why don’t they pick up their Muslim fellows to live in their countries?
  • @tarunika983
Don't make babies in this condition please people
  • @JingJao
her child was bullied and pushed by HER OWN people. These are not the kind of people that you want in Indonesia.
  • @NicksPinoy
This is really good journalism that shows the harsh reality of these refugees...but it fails to really tell a story of WHY Indonesia seem unable to provide for these refugees. Where is their GDP per capita stats? Employment rate? Just genuinely asking how their economy is doing and how this may affect their ability to "provide". And what is this about negative sentiment toward these refugees due to 'misinformation', please do tell us this story before spouting that it is 'misinformation'. How can the audience trust your words if you do not properly explain the other side of this story. U spent a whole 20 mins about telling the stories of these clearly sympathetic people, but not the angry locals who clearly also have a long story to tell and you did not give the chance to tell them. Be better woth your journalism.

Woah, first time knowing that the new wave of Rohingya is from Bangladesh, not Myanmar.
  • From what I see as an Indonesian, this is all Burmese government’s responsibility. The fact that they’re bern refused in so many different countries should raise the question “what’s wrong with those people?” In fact, their behaviour is the main cause to why most of Indonesian refuse them to be in our country. Tbh, Indonesia has already packed with tons of domestic problem despite of our economic growth. So I guess our people don’t like another problem to be added within our country, especially when those assylum seeker behave in a very bad attitude.
  • @Kokoh_rahel.
They fled from filling up in Bangladesh and then they arrived in Indonesia and continued to evacuate. Instead they ran away from there and disturbed Indonesian society. They were dirty and felt like society
  • Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia cannot afford them. Taking more in will cause problems to local people. Maybe Singapore can designate one of their islands to be turned into high technology residences for rohingya people? Singapore is very rich and certainly can afford it.
  • So far, Indonesia has received refugees from various countries such as Palestine, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Syria, but for Rohingya, Rohingya refugees have always caused a lot of problems in Indonesia. All of this makes some Indonesian people unable to accept it in Indonesia
  • @user-mx1yk8mj2l
imagine having people arriving uninvited and being surprised the locals arent happy about it.
  • @suryatobing
These people are ungrateful, they have been given food but thrown it away. Wherever they are they will definitely cause problems, from robbery to sexual harassment of the local community.
  • Didnt they marched for Gaza muslims? Why are Rohingya muslims not a worth cause? Os is that adage of a problem not at my doorstep is not mine
  • There are over 50 + Muslim-majority countries, so why isn't each of them taking in some of these people? Why is the pressure being placed on a single country?
  • @19hbytuy
indonesia support palestine but not ROHINGYAS
  • @thyoode7734
  • Why don’t they go to Saudi Arabia?? Saudi Arabia was the one who created Islam in the first place, so why don’t they go to Saudi Arabia? They will be gladly and more accepted there.
