My first thought was “he doesn’t look like a really obese person” Then I realised that shows like “my 600lb life” have desensitised me.
  • @tommyrotts
He passed away in Jan 2021 due to a heart attack. got his weight down to 20 stone (280 pounds) after his health problems got worse, calorie intake went down to 1,500 (which is insane given what it was at when they filmed this). RIP Barry, seemed like a nice man.

Most people: "How can he down 40 pints without dying?" Me: "How can he afford 40 pints?"
  • @rosevampire3755
He’s fully aware that it’s his fault, I feel like the documentary did him bad, he seems really kind.
  • @AzoRonics
Were the sound effects necessary 🤢🤮
  • @2kan_tom599
At least Barry admits he is the problem, most people don’t
  • @kyleemorgan1123
I have to say, for someone who eats that much, at least he does it with his mouth closed.
  • Barry is a really likeable guy, because he admits that it's his own fault, and that he recognizes his greed, and doesn't slam it on his peers and family.
  • @cami.nugent2388
This was really disrespectful to the guy ☹️ it would be much better if he could talk about it from a medical, explorative aspect instead of the childish, mean way he did.
  • @LoveShiaGDSN
Fat Doctor is a lot more respectful of the people in their episodes. This was just exploitative.
  • @marielar.8386
This documentary would’ve been really good if it wasn’t for that stupid submarine and the guy making his dumb jokes.
  • @mrhyde6834
Never seen this episode of Doctor Who before
  • @AA-oj9yc
This guy seems very sweet and genuine. I hope he's doing ok.

"I, Richard Hammond will be miniaturized...". Well, wasn't him miniaturized enough?
  • I'm a recovering chronic overeater...my weight peaked at 492 pounds in 1999. The following June, I was approved for a Roux-en-Y bypass. I went down to half that in about a year...after a lot of work at the gym, I was half that. I'm 230 pounds to this day. I'll be 62 in December, and I absolutely know I'd have been dead 20 years ago if I had that procedure. I understand the purpose of this special...it's meant as a wake-up call to people who struggle with this. What's bad here is trying to frame this man as something other than human. That's helpful to nobody, especially to people fighting the notion that they are no longer human.
  • 5 minutes... That's all I could stand before I got fed up with the sensationalism and mockery. Adiós amigos
