For those who don't understand, Drunk style has really strong and simple counters that are really difficult to deal with if you aren't used to fighting them, and close to impossible to deal with when fighting someone who is actually very practiced in the game

For anyone unaware of what is going on, the opponent is just using low-tier cheese. He mashes out super armor moves the moment he gets hit, so there isn't ever a trade of turns. Whatever pressure could have been applied from our side is instantly turned into defense because of how abusive super armors(and the side evasion of drunk style) can be. Imagine playing guilty gear or blazblue but your opponent has unlimited burst. Mortal Kombat, but your opponent has unlimited breakers. It isn't that they can't be beaten, it's just that it is not fun. What we saw here was an inexperienced drunken style trying to beat an experienced windfall by exploiting a gimmick, and failing. This match was fun for nobody.

Can't wait for Sifu so that I can enjoy Sloclap's talent on a solo experience with respectful AI

This game has such a great concept but I guess some of the execution was rough.

i thought he was going to show an opponent with the super speed spam decks. where they just hit you so fast it feels like you can't do anything.
  • @carlo2038
you’ll always have people like that on fighting games. “Oh he learned that I like to spam the exact same moves in the same pattern? we’ll do it again!”
  • @Ninjasoulz
Damn, thats some good super armor he's got there. Almost why i stopped playing; that and co-op is dry as hell even with the downfall update.

i loved absolver so much i wish the game itself had more content tho
  • @Robemax_
is good to see there's still people who are interested in this game, Absolver was my favorite fighting game at the time it came out so much potential with all the different fighting styles and incorporated martial arts into the combat system it felt like it was a game made for met at the time since i've always loved martial arts and i've been a student for over 12 years, sadly around the time i started taking the game more seriously and trying to go full on competitive on it and becoming really good to the point of fighting content creators like ocandersis and judas, its really sad that the game died down so fast since i feel like it had the potential to be one of the best martial arts fighting games ever made but sadly it died down
  • Really my only gripe with this game was how long it took to learn new moves sometimes, I shouldn't have to look up and join people's schools just to get access to all the moves in a kit. Other than that it was some of the most satisfying meaty fighting I've seen in a while holy shit I used to get so hype every other match

I think my favorite part of absolver is its artstyle, I'm gonna try to learn how to recreate it
  • @JS-kr8fs
I was trying to make out what was wrong, and it just seems like owl has more health or durability, or the new player had lower damage. He was giving good enough, but his health was dropping much faster per hit.
  • @ethan5915
I've literally never head of this game before but even this rage clip looks sick
  • @grimmashley8422
Can confirm. As an Absolver player, it’s SO much harder to deal with Drunken Fist moves when you’re just starting out. You really need to learn to start reading moves and defending carefully before it gets easier to fight players with moves like that
  • @TheGreyAngelic
What really bothers me about this is that the drunken style user isn't even taking advantage of how drunken really works in this game, successful forward style action with stagger gives a 12+frame bonus to a lot of moves and the side style actions are easily chainable to gather stamina since stagger gains stamina regen bonuses that collect as you perform perfect dodges, and the back style stagger can be in niche situations feinted to continue said stamina regen gain. A lot of people don't know this, unfortunately this makes a lot of people who pick the style up at first, think that stagger is just some super aggressive style that you can just mash into hella hard and just continuously pressure the enemy with, but its real strength really comes from being sudden, you wanna be suddenly aggressive and take advantage of burst of stamina, play defensively, chain a few evasions and then start pressuring your enemy, and for the love of god stop spamming charge attacks, that shit might work on a new player using any style tbh as a lot of new players don't know how to answer them. Each charge has an answer, some are easier depending on the style you are playing, I'd say wind and faej certainly have the easier options, but unfortunately, new players won't know this and as most fighting games have proven aggressive characters tend to be the hardest for new players to learn to fight against because aggression tends to win a battle against someone who is genuinely trying to read take advantage of mistakes (but said person isn't experienced enough to do so so its a down hill battle from there)

They also emote me alot LMFAO, instead of trying to help me they just be cocky and mean about it, I'm still learning tho I still want to get good at the game, but it's hard when online players are so toxic for literally no reason, like I just started a week ago chill tf out
  • @KmoneyB12
I quit like a year or two ago cuz some people in online matches toxic as shit, and ruin the fun of a match lol. It sucks too cuz i did enjoy the ambiance of this game
  • @kbgbfree8856
Yo! You got a sub from me for this hotness you released, this game is so fire!
  • @potrenia
Knight: Aha! U thought I excelled only in swordplay, eh? MC: oh F*ck off (TRIPLE KILL)
