Lots of good news bad news in this weeks update. Progress at Earls is bad news, but the new bag check is speeding along. Haunted Mansion seems like it's slowed down. But Tianas Bayou Adventure has sped up. Even Critter Country, with its massive demo that looks really bad, the news there is potentially not bad at all.

As a kid in the 70s - the Golden Horseshoe review was excellent… they NEED a proper show!

We were there last week and I was talking to one of the railroad conductors and he said that haunted mansion was ahead of schedule and should be done before the end of summer (likely to coincide with Halloween season in august)! He mentioned it when I asked if the New Orleans square station would stay closed until haunted mansion reopened and he said the train station may be closed longer because of a couple months of routine maintenance on the trains that would likely overlap with the reopening.
  • I love that we have had Mount Gracey, but thinking a future Critter Country mound named Mount Pooh may be fun. lolol

So happy to hear about the investment in Mr Lincoln. In my opinion it is one of the most important attractions in Disneyland— for a number of reasons. The message is so important and it’s great to experience something that has nothing to do with IP. Its experiences like Great Moments that set Disney apart, and above all other theme parks.
  • They also planted two huge trees beside the Haunted Mansion on the Critter Country side. The trees now obscure the view of the mansion from the bridge to Critter Country.

It’s worth mentioning that California is banning surcharges in restaurants thankfully

I love moments with Mr. Lincoln. I probably go every other visit. Its a great place to rest when it’s hot outside.

I would be soooo incredibly stoked if they brought Country Bears back….Golden Horseshoe would be a perfect location for that. Crossing my fingers 🤞🤞🤞

The Rancho changes are downright evil, it is awful that because of greed that place has gone from one of the best places to eat to one of the most disappointing within a few years

All that orange capped rebar at the Haunted Mansion is a good sign, it means they are forming concrete

My stepdad used to be the one who negotiated pay for musicians in the park, he’s says it’s always been hard to give the musicians what they deserve, even the Disneyland band is smaller than it used to be. It’s sad when ceos get millions and they can’t pay people to do a job so many enjoy in the parks. I loved watching Billy hill and the hillbillies…

So sad that the Golden Horseshoe isn’t doing live music anymore. My family saw Billy and Hillbillies Christmas show in 1996. We still talk about that show whenever we are on vacation together. My second to last trip to Disneyland, I took my nephew (age 15 at the time) there to have root beer floats, and listen to the piano player. It was the best part of that whole vacation.
  • I can’t wait to see David does videos on Disneyland forward stuff when Disney starts building it
  • As much as I like these updates, I can't help but hear Eric Church's "Give me back my hometown" in the background as Disney erases my childhood one brick at a time.
  • Golden Horseshow "review" was a genuine old west experience, now its like you said, just below average food in a cool building. The shows made this attraction.
  • @3:54 I see the old tomb displays for the Haunted Mansion - most notably, "I. L. BEBACK" -- Don't let us down Imagineers!
  • @davidalan6701
I miss Billy Hill and the Hillbillies, but if they’re not going to do live shows for now’s they should set up a screen and have a loop of the old Golden Horseshoe Review or any other classic shows that they had there.
  • I’m always impressed by those giant printed scrims! I’d love to tour the factory that makes those!
  • @Lisiepwilliams
We need another show at Golden Horseshoe always one of my favorite parts of the park when there was a show going on!
  • Tokyo Disney Seas is opening their SECOND in park hotel for one park in a few weeks. so now there will be one at the front and one at the back. The rooms in the new Fantasy Springs area hotel that face the 3 new lands start at $2,000 per night.
