Six Flags Magic Mountain, Six Flags Great Adventure, Six Flags Great America, Six Flags Fiesta Texas, Six Flags Over Texas, Six Flags Over Georgia, Six Flags St Louis, Six Flags New England, Six Flags America, and Six Flags Mexico. All amusement parks and theme parks in danger of closing due to poor management from the Six Flags CEO and corporate. After reporting their Q2 Six Flags 2023 earnings report, Six Flags stockholders have been shell shocked and the future of Six Flags looks dim. What will become of all the best roller coasters in the world that the Six Flags parks have assembled? Will 6 Flags survive or will the Six Flags 2023 season be one of their last?

Six flags stopped being peak as soon as that old man stopped dancing.

If Six flags wants more visitors they need to work on presentation. Clean parks. Costumed characters. Friendly staff. Immersive environments. People want to be lost in a fantasy not feel like they are wondering the AC boardwalk.

I feel like the main draw to six flags is that it’s a cheaper alternative to Disney/universal/etc. drastically raising the prices like that was such a horrible idea

Six flags was always supposed to be a much more affordable option to other parks. You were supposed to be able to go there with your friends and spend maybe $50-70 for the whole day.

One thing you didn't bring up was the loss of the dining pass and parking pass. That's one of the biggest reasons they lost 50% of season pass holders.

Everyone wants to make premium parks, but only rich people can afford it. I used to love disney, but even if the parks were good (which im so sad at how they've ruined the parks), i cant afford to go. Even though i live like 15 miles away, i just cant. Its so sad. So much stuff is becoming so overpriced i cant do anything anymore.

So another CEO that destroys a once loved brand and when the place crumbles, he walks off into the sunset with a sweetheart deal from the board for his “hard work”

Six Flags over Georgia is so ghetto. Daily fights, cars getting broken into, harassment from the locals.. It's just not worth the headache anymore.

I watched the whole video before commenting. I want to say as an average 30 year old consumer with no kids, everything is overpriced right now and I can barely keep up taking care of myself. Going to Six Flags is the furthest thing in my mind. Raising prices wont help, however building new rides and sparking my interest might. I havent gone to Six Flags New England (local) in years because its the same old s***. Im not going to go AT ALL, let alone pay more than I did before until I see something new. Last time I went it felt like a waste of time and money. SALEEM WAKE UP! PS great video

It's funny how Selim says he wants to put effort into maintenance. He's talking about predictors for maintenance like train upgrades and big changes, but it's the day-to-day keeping things running that keeps attractions being charming for years to come. You can't just let Monster Mansion run without maintenance until the time comes to make upgrades. You're going to see ridership decrease while it looks bad, and many people won't come back if the upgrade isn't big enough.

we went to six flags over texas 2 years ago and it was so dirty and the ride operators were so rude and literally almost started a fight with one of my friends simply because we couldn’t hear which lane to go to. i think improving the overall experience would help a lot as well bc it was horrible

I live near Frontier City and I remember being SO PISSED when Six Flags bought them out bc they hiked the prices up without changing anything at all, to the point that most people can’t afford to go at least once a year like they used to. So to hear that this new CEO intends on rising the prices even more just infuriates me. If they had only raised the prices after adding new rides then I wouldn’t be as upset, but raising the prices as soon as you bought the park without making any major changes is a serious red flag to me.

As someone who lives near the six flags Great America and used to frequent it before covid because it was in the area, it has gone downhill. There is a lot of empty space, lack of things to do for families, lack of variety in amusement/entertainment, and it's become a place where a lot of teenagers loiter. Six flags used to be worth the price of admission, but now it doesn't even it's not worth it anymore. Especially because things are so expensive too. Idk. There isn't a pull to go or even just hang around

I feel like a lot of people will just read the title/thumbnail and not actually listen to the video: While this video does highlight challenges and struggles faced by Six Flags, it also suggests that the company might be taking steps to improve its situation, including a renewed focus on investing in new thrill rides and acknowledging the need to make strategic changes. The title "The Death of Six Flags Is Getting Ugly" seems to imply a more dire and negative situation than what the video as a whole describes.

I remember when Six Flags was still "Six Flags Over Texas" and it was just a regional amusement park. Still remember the first time I went. Good times.

Current employee at magic mountain, though maybe for not much longer, we've been losing so much attendance and money that we had to go to a weekend only model, which screws most of the employees over, our turn over rate is crazy!
  • @skatealex1
I wish Six Flags added more dark rides in their parks. Kinda lost interest in them for the most part lately as upside down coasters give me headaches.
  • @geenacca36
I've been going to Six Flags Great Adventure since the late 90s until about 2007, and that place was thriving! I bought the seasons pass this season because it was a good deal. I bought the gold pass, which was upgraded to the platinum pass, and was about $100. This pass included free parking and unlimited access to the park, wild safari, and hurricane harbor. I honestly can't believe how run down the park has become. There is no entertainment anymore unless they have an event for a particular day. Everything is faded or discolored. The restaurants are run down, and the food is expensive and tastes horrible. Most of the staff is rude and looks miserable. It was actually pretty sad to see. The park needs a major face lift/renovation. The only thing the park has going for them are the roller-coasters(when they are open). I really hope the park owners can fund the necessary renovations so the park can thrive again.

I grew up 15 min away from six flags and continued to frequent it into my late 20s. I think the biggest down fall has been the unruly teens. My family stopped going because in the past 3 years there has been massive brawls breaking out, several shootings at the front gate, and a special needs kid and his parents were jumped by a group of 10 people. Me and my family dont want to get jumped or shot.

If six flags wants more visitors, they need to bring back that one old dude that's dances to "we like to party".
