  • imagine being called into a company meeting on zoom and getting layed off by your bosses metaverse avatar
  • @wcmatthysen
It's sad as the Metaverse was the only place Mark really felt human.

Fun fact: After this video was released, Facebook had to issue a statement admitting that the leg movement that you see was actually mo-cap and the avatars can't do that.
  • I love literally everyone’s reaction went from abject terror of Meta trying to create a new dystopian society under its rule to amused Schadenfreude as the efforts to do so completely failed.

2022 Meta: You can use your avatar across multiple things! 2006 Nintendo: It's called a Mii

The audience silently clipping through each other feels like some kind of skit about Metaverse
  • @funnatopia704
The worst part about Metaverse isn't that it's a lifeless cash-grab, it's the fact that Mark assumed everyone can afford a VR headset and the systems needed to run a VR game smoothly. Like, imagine your boss sets up a mandatory meeting and its only accessible with something that is financially out of your reach by miles.

The way the whole presentation was made you can tell there are good guys on the inside sabotaging everything
  • @Patterrz
I'm very proud of Meta finally catching up to the Xbox 360, they might even make a Kinect rip off before they file for bankruptcy!
  • I love that bad graphics can be described as a "unique style"
  • @Savieor
Games in 2000: We have realistic body’s and backgrounds with a high detail land you will spend hours to Mark in 2022: Man we got legs
  • I'm convinced metaverse is actually just a pov of how Mark actually sees the world,
  • @remtato4662
He looks more human in the metaverse than he does in real life.
  • Zucky looks more human as a metaverse avatar than he does in real life 💀
  • The Metaverse looks like 2000's Grand Theft Auto cut-scenes. I keep thinking the brunette woman talking to Mark Zuckerberg is Asuka giving me missions lol
  • The fact they still look like and move like characters in an early 2000's trivia game is hilarious
  • @jedodom3056
Even a Mii felt more natural than those metaverse avatars. Even during things like Wii Sports Resort, where they removed the arms and just had the hands floating there, that still looked more lifelike than those crappy metaverse things.
  • I feel like the Metaverse is just a huge cover up for money laundering 😅
  • My other major problem with the metaverse is how much it feels so "unprofessional" and yet Mark is pushing it to be a work environment. It has the same feeling of adding emojis to confidential documents. Just the whole idea of being cartoons as avatars screams unprofessionalism. And in this day and age, where higher management are forcing subordinates to act more serious and professional while on the job, having avatars has the same feeling as using a cat filter while working. I thought Mark Zuckerberg was a genius since he was a young man able to become a billionnare. But now I don't know how a dumb guy like him was ever to pull that off. He's certainly not as smart as I thought he was.
  • Imagine a Zoom meeting and your boss is in his metaverse persona and he's firing you
